Our family of 4 had a great time here mid-March 2026. It was super busy due to March break. There seemed to be many groups of families or sports teams visiting, so expect big crowds, especially during holidays. Though crowded, we still had a positive experience overall.
Check in was easy. The room was standard, i.e. decently clean and comfortable. Room was maintained/tidied up with towels refreshed daily. Staff were working hard to keep guests happy. Our room was on the ground floor facing the back parking lot. We had no issues with it and found it relatively quiet. Just don't open the curtains if you want any sort of privacy. The rooms facing the courtyard would have heard the very loud crowds all day. Parking was plentiful and cost was $20 per night.
The whole place is certainly family friendly, being the most fun for kids under age 10 I"d say. We enjoyed a couple hours in the courtyard every day. They had board games you can borrow, colouring pages, a few mildly organized "competitions"" hosted by staff at fixed times e.g. very casual mini golf game or colouring contest. The fact that it's an indoor courtyard is nice, bit of an oasis from winter weather with its tropical plants and full glass ceiling. The centrepiece of the courtyard is the pool and two hot tubs, plus a bit of lounging space around them, which are all fully enclosed by a fence with gates. The pool is about 1.5metres deep at its deepest. Pool towels were available and replenished frequently. Hot tubs are a nice temperature for adults. Please respect the rules and exercise plenty of caution, especially when it comes to keeping your children safe. Alongside the pool area there's a mini golf green with a few holes, an indoor play structure (i.e. like a McDonald's playground), and lounge areas with chairs and tables, all for guests to use first come first serve. We did not buy any food or drinks or arcade passes, but they have a few options.
At peak times the pool was at, or over, its max capacity. 30, 40, or more people, mostly kids, in the pool at once really was too crowded, therefore not comfortable, not much fun, and not safe. Some staff seemed not to care, while others did try to manage the crowd in the pool/ pool area. For example, at times a staff person stood at the gate to have guests who were just arriving to swim wait outside the gate until a party from inside the pool area left. This was not managed consistently. There were some signs asking guests to keep their pool time to ~30(?) minutes to allow others a turn. I didn't see anyone enforcing that, but I also didn't see any guests too upset. I think every family got a turn as long as they had some patience. Our kids had fun, so overall we felt satisfied.
Although super busy and loud the rooms were great, spacious and clean. Good value for your money.
I have stayed at this hotel many times over the years, as it has become a favorite for my family. The rooms are consistently clean, the staff is friendly, and the convenience of having amenities such as a hot tub, pool, arcade, and playground all in one place is a major draw.
However, during our most recent visit over March Break, my experience was less positive. While my son still enjoyed himself and had fun interacting with other children, the pool area was frequently over capacity. Guests were often required to wait in line just to access the pool. That said, I would like to acknowledge the staff member who was stationed in the pool area each day to monitor capacity and rowdiness in the pool, this was appreciated.
In addition to the March Break crowds, the hotel was also hosting hockey teams and birthday parties. These large groups often took over the entire pool or occupied most of the seating area near the playground, leaving little to no space for other parents to sit and supervise their children. Unfortunately, these areas were also left in poor condition, with food scattered across the turf and no evidence of regular cleaning or vacuuming.
Regarding the birthday parties, it appeared that many of the children attending were not registered hotel guests. In my opinion, there should be designated spaces for these events, and they should not be scheduled during peak periods such as March Break, when hotel capacity is maxed.
The on-site restaurant was average at best. The website advertises a “Happy Hour from 2–5 with half-price appetizers,” but when I was charged full price and inquired about it, I was told this promotion did not apply during March Break. I pointed out that this exclusion was not stated on the website, but the manager was dismissive, appeared eager to end the conversation, and simply responded that the promotion would resume the following week.
lastly, we checked out at 12pm. Unit 12:30 I spent money in the arcade for my son. When finished I noticed my room door was still open and no cleaning so me and my son quickly ran in to wash our hands before leaving the hotel. The Head cleaner must of saw us and instead of talking to us she went to the front desk to have them call my cell phone and tell me I had to vacate the room. By that time I was at the vending machine and almost out of the building. I have been many times, spent lots of money and the rude cleaning lady couldn't just say " excuse me you cannot do that" but rather made me feel like a criminal. The entire situation has been bugging me and left such a sour taste in my mouth that I thought it was worth update the review for.
We particularly enjoy the courtyard rooms; however, improved soundproofing would greatly enhance the experience, as noise levels can be quite high and there is little insulation from surrounding activity.
Despite these frustrations, this hotel remains unique in the area, and my family genuinely enjoys the overall experience. For that reason, we will likely return in the future.
Location
Pool area could be larger
clean
Comfy bed. Clean room with shampoo...
Pool and sauna was good but could be hotter. Last time I came there was a kids hockey team and way too many kids in both unsupervised. Why I came back again to relax with less people. Told them should advise if big group. She felt bad and gave me a free breakfast couple. Tyou
See above
Pool and jungle gym. Plus the new mini putt course
Nothing
Kids had lots of room to explore and move around indoors.
The hotel looks better in pictures and could use major tlc. The carpet in our room was scary looking, there were dust and hair balls travelling down the hallways, and the genera hotell area as expected this far up Lundy's lane gets a little busy with "characters" roaming around and panhandling from early in the morning until late at night. We come to Niagara several times a year and usually stay within Clifton Hill or the new casino area. We chose this location for the pool and sadly it was way smaller than expected and honestly Instagram influencers I am convinced had been paid for the ad as to which I fell for this time.
All around this is a very cool hotel, especially for a best Western. Our child enjoyed all the amenities, mini putt, pool, hot tub, play place and arcade. Everyone was very friendly and there was an overall cool vibe to this hotel.
Everything was sanitary, but there was dirt on the outside of the fridge and there were black hairs in the shower. Other than that though we have no complaints about the cleanliness.
Very good staff specially the lady on duty when we check in her name ezy she is very accomodating .
We went for our 50th Anniversary. We had a nice clean room .Everyone was very nice and helpful. The restaurant was great for dinner and entertainment.
Would recommend this hotel .
Loved the pool area with couches, mini put etc.
We were on second floor with stair access only. Next time I will request first floor but in same area.
