Amazing property and location, needs a little loving care to make exceptional again
Pros:

The location, grounds, bedding, amenities are amazing. Really wonderful place. We took a 1 hr birding tour on the property and it was amazing, the guide was just wonderful. That was the highlight of the trip.

Cons:

This was our third trip to Uayamon and it looks like the current owner is not really taking care of the property and certainly not maintaining the same level of cleanliness as prior visits. The pool was dirty and we had to ask to have them clean it twice. There was animal feces under one of the lunges which I pointed out to one of the crew in a morning swim and when I returned some 8 hours later for an afternoon swim, it was still there. The buildings had what seemed like more new mold, white, which I did not remember from before and there were debris on the top of walls in the bathroom which I had not remember from the first visit. Sadly, some of the wonderful details that made this place remarkable wore off this third time. I am sad to write, we may not return to Uayamon.

More than a hotel, it is a well worth experience
Pros:

The hacienda is magnificent. You can get a real feeling of how life was at the end of the 19th century. We had a very large room, which we liked.
Swimming pool spectacular and very different from what you have even seen. Remarkable

It's a unique experience, but nor for all.
Pros:

It's a unique experience to be in the middle of the jungle in an 18th century hacienda. It's a hotel to go and disconnect from the world and I think it is very good for adults, perhaps for families with children this is not the right hotel because it does not have amenities or areas for kids. The service was very good, the room was very clean and nice and the food in the restaurant was very good to me.
