Doria Palace Boutique Hotel

When I arrived at the hotel, I was informed that I would be moved to the hotel across the street due to an air-conditioning problem, even though no one had notified me in advance. I had originally booked a Deluxe Room.

Unfortunately, my experience at the Melea Hotel was extremely disappointing. There was a very unpleasant smell in the room, as well as on the bed covers and pillows. I was also given a very small standard room, despite having paid for a Deluxe Room.

When I raised the issue, the receptionist insisted that it was not a standard room. After I explained how extremely small it was, she offered to change it. However, it was already late, and I was leaving early the following morning, so I declined.

Nevertheless, I believe I should have been given the room category I originally booked and paid for from the beginning.

The payment policy is very rigid and not flexible. At the very beginning of the stay I did not have dollars exchanged, as I just arrived from the airport, and was forced to go to to exchange it to a train station in a high heat, as they couldn’t let me go to the room unless it is paid. The place that was suggested to me had super low rate, so in the end I had to look for another one myself. They also didn’t accept my virtual credit card as a guarantee for the stay. I had a plastic card from the same bank account but it didn’t help either. Moreover, staff member who was checking me in said that it is going to be a lesson for me. Super weird thing to say. The rest of the staff were relatively fine, but first impression was not the best.
Btw, they said, they will hold deposit on the card for 15-20 days, even tho I paid right on the check in, despite all inconveniences. I offered deposit in cash if I can just go to the room after travelling all day and pay either later during the evening or in the end of my stay. Anyway, just pax to them in advance and you will be fine, as there is no flexibility in terms of payment.

Everything was great!

There wasn't anything I didn't like. I even enjoyed riding in the small elevator.

You can hear people talking or noise from the neighbor/other room but not bad☺️
