Stay was pleasant. Nice hotel to stay in.
Pros:

Facilities on site - restaurants, Cyril's Bar and Hops inside the hotel complex. V good breakfast

Cons:

Old fashioned shower that is on top of the bath. Always feels unsafe from possible slips and falls

Home away from home
Pros:

Riverside has been my home away from away for years now.
The cherry on top was that on this occasion we attended an Easter church service conveniently held in their conference room.

Cons:

Room had a odd smell, damp smell. The airconditioner soon fixed it

Cockroaches were all over in our bedroom. We tried spraying with doom but not winning. We just felt that if cockroaches are in the room how much more in the restaurant, the kitchen....

The breakfast was great, the beds also very good. The restaurant manager is very good and polite.

Cons:

The place is no longer four star...the floor and halls smell stuffy, the pool was filthy and the pool area was not cleaned, just had papers and bottles lying around. The room was dated, the cupboard had a strip with nails sticking out, the shower had mould in and around it as well as the roof. The soap and shampoo dispensers for the shower and tub are rusted. The entire room needs a paint. Plug points in room do not work.

This establishment used to be among the best in Durban however it is now dated and not maintained. I did ask to be checked out and refunded but was refused as I had already checked in.

Will not be staying at this establishment again unfortunately.
