Two wonderful nights in Paris
Pros:

A cosy little hotel in Faubourg Saint Denis, easy to reach from the railway stations Gare du Nord and Gare de l'Est. Situated in a lively neighbourhood with many restaurants and bars, the surrounding streets tend to become wonderful party zones at night. Nevertheless, it's possible to sleep deep and sound long before the small hours because the windows shut firmly and the beds are wonderful and cosy.

Cons:

The reception looks a bit cheesy, breakfast room included. Here's room for improvement.

Pros:

The staff were very helpful. The location could not be better - it's a lively area with numerous bars, restaurants and shops a few minutes walk away. Metro stations about 3 and 5 minutes walk.

Bien dans l'ensemble
Pros:

La chambre était propre et de taille convenable pour ce qu'on peut trouver sur Paris. Le personnel était aimable.

Cons:

Le choix n'est pas très diversifié pour le petit-déjeuner mais on retrouve les classiques, c'est suffisant.
Il y a plein de restaurants autour mais le quartier n'est pas propre et je ne me suis pas sentie très safe d'y sortir le soir par exemple.

Great staff. Very helpful and accommodating. Very small room and no refrigerator for the price point

Gerne wieder im Olivia Opéra
Pros:

Ein kleines, sauberes Zimmer inmitten eines lebendigen Multikulti-Viertels von Paris. Wer mit der Bahn am Gare de L'Est oder Gare du Nord ankommt, kann bequem zum Hotel laufen. Wir haben die Gegend St. Denis genossen, mit seinen vielen Lokalen (franz., italienisch, kurdisch, arabisch, chinesisch ...), Bars und Cafés. Man kann viele Attraktionen zu Fuß erreichen wie Montmatre, Centre Pompidou, Marais, Notre Dame etc. Das Frühstück im Hotel ist ok, aber die Umgebung bietet vielfältige andere Möglichkeiten, gut zu frühstücken.

Confortable mais bruyant
Pros:

Accueil sympathique. Chambre confortable, salle de bain très propre, literie excellente.

Cons:

Mal isolé surtout entre les chambre mais aussi extérieur en moindre mesure. Le quartier est animé. La Clim est bruyante également.

Pros:

Although it’s a couple of Métro rides to the major attractions, it only takes about 20-30 minutes and is very easy with a Metro station about 200m away from the hotel. The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. It’s a fantastic neighbourhood though, with many bars, cafes and cheap restaurants and a very lively vibe. There’s also a laundromat right next door, which is super handy. And a supermarket across the street.

Cons:

The bars are open late at night and it has a real party atmosphere, which was fine with us as we’re deep sleepers. We stayed there during the FIFA World Cup so it may have been busier than usual. The room we had was very small, but we are organised and pretty light travellers. It’s a struggle if you have two large suitcases and you need them open all the time. But it was clean so we were very happy.
