Omni Barton Creek Resort and Spa Austin

My husband and I spent our anniversary here for a long weekend. Everything we wanted or needed was right on property. The pools were delightful, especially given the extreme Texas heat! The spa was a perfect escape and a nice way to unwind, relax, and shut out the world (and the heat!). The mini golf was also really fun! The views are spectacular and everything we ate and drank was delicious. Being in Texas, the portions were bigger and it was impossible not to overeat! The entire staff throughout the property was kind and helpful, and they greeted us with “happy anniversary” all the time.

This Omni property was perfection! The service and hospitality was some of the best I have received probably since Pre-Covid. I cannot wait to return and bring my children back with me. I know they will love it!!!

Overall, this resort did not meet my expectations. Upon arrival around 4:45 pm, I was planning to attend the scheduled 5:30 mat pilates. No one was in the fitness studio at the time of class. Then, I hoped to swim and enjoy the pool bar/restaurant. However, it closed at 6p on Thursday, with no notice from staff or waiters about last call or closing hour. I then was given the option to walk to the lobby bar and order food/drinks to go. The service there was slow and inattentive, and I waited outside on their empty patio in my swim suit for 20 minutes for the food. Dinner at the Blind Salamander was also disappointing, with inconsistent food. The service was much better and the ambiance on the patio at sunset was very nice. The blue crab dip was recommended, but it was very soupy and mediocre in flavor. The oysters were fine, been carpaccio was actually great, and the pineapple upside down cake was inedible. I actually threw it away.
The room was clean, spacious, and had a very comfy bed. Water pressure was medium. The breakfast delivery was a bit later than the window I requested, and again the food was disappointing. The bagel was hard, with a tiny serving of cream cheese. The oatmeal was huge but lacked flavor. I would not call this a destination resort. I would visit the spa again because that was a wonderful experience overall, no notes.

The Omni Barton Springs is a beautiful resort - top notch amenities, excellent food and relaxing spa. My husband and I went for our 20th anniversary and felt relaxed and at ease the whole time. What really made the experience amazing was the attention and care from the staff. We were warmly welcomed at every turn and they went above and beyond to celebrate our special milestone. We've never had such a VIP hotel experience before. We'll definitely be back!

Not a luxury resort. Thin walls and overcrowded. Service lacks. If you are looking for a spa retreat, quiet atmosphere, or want to get any sleep, then this is not the venue for you. Appears nice on the surface but the operations are not indicative.

Overall this was a Holiday Inn experience at an Omni price. Staff generally dismissive and unhelpful both at general hotel and restaurants. Poor condition of bathroom, uncomfortable bed, and cannot recommend this resort unless you HAVE to stay for conference or something.

I was charged twice for my spa services: $429.56 was a valid spa charge, while the additional $576.68 Omni charge is not reflected on my final folio and has not been explained. I was told they billed my spa services to the room. My hotel folio only shows the separate $47.70 resort fee, which is valid.

When I called the spa and front desk, spa lady was rude and unfriendly. I was told by the spa they couldn’t see the extra charge and that I should dispute it with my credit card company. I came to celebrate my birthday, not spend time fixing their billing error. Very disappointing and I won't be back.

Beautiful resort, impeccable grounds, great restaurants on site, fantastic experience. Highly recommend if you love golf and want a fantastic care-free vacation.

The rooms, grounds, and restaurants are always wonderful here! We chose a summer weekend, so the pool was quite busy. I would love to stay here M-F and skip the crowds. That said, the service and restaurants were still very nice and they always found a spot for us to dine.

The atmosphere was one of the highlights of my stay. From the moment I arrived, I felt like a king. The hotel was welcoming, elegant, and exceptionally well maintained. When I experienced a minor issue with the elevator, the management team went above and beyond to make things right. They graciously provided a complimentary room upgrade, free valet parking, and a food credit, which far exceeded my expectations. Their commitment to guest satisfaction was truly impressive. I left more than pleased with my experience and cannot wait to return. I’m also looking forward to visiting more Omni locations in the future. Highly recommended!

Exceptional accessibility for my child, who uses a wheelchair! Every staff member we encountered was incredibly friendly and made sure we had seamless access to parking, an accessible room, and the lifts throughout our stay.

Amazing resort! Ideal for a weekend getaway. Anthony at the front desk and Sara at the pool were amazing!!!!! It was just my friend and I and we had the best weekend ever! We will definitely be back!

Thank you to the Omni Staff. They made celebrating my Sister’s birthday special. From when we arrived to when we left, they made our stay memorable. We will be back again!

We've stayed at this location numerous times. They never disappoint. I highly recommend the spa! All the dining areas are top notch!

BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front)
- Beautiful resort with comfortable, quiet rooms. Definitely a higher price point, but a great place to splurge.
- Great staff and great food. Several team members went above and beyond.
- Perfect for girls' trips, golf weekends, families, kids, and business travel.
- Think carefully before renting an adult pool cabana. It was our biggest disappointment.
- Double-check your reservation and your final bill. We had a couple of issues, but the staff made them right.

Our girls' trip had to make a last-minute pivot this year, so we decided to stay local and treat ourselves to a weekend at the Omni Barton Creek. Overall, it was a great decision.
Our arrival was a little chaotic with the valet line backed up all the way to the road, so we ended up self-parking. That's where we met Antwon, who saw us unloading our luggage and immediately offered to help. He and another valet carried everything to check-in with a smile. It was such a small gesture that made a big first impression.
At check-in, I realized our guaranteed connecting rooms weren't actually connecting. Once I showed my confirmation, the front desk quickly fixed it and moved us to the correct rooms. The rooms were clean, comfortable, surprisingly quiet, and the bathroom layout worked really well for four women getting ready.
Dinner at the Blind Salamander was one of the highlights. Henry took great care of us, Erick stopped by to check on our table, and Gabriela makes an outstanding dirty martini. The food was excellent, and the atmosphere made for a really fun evening.
Our only real disappointment was the adult pool cabana. The online price was much lower than what we ended up paying, and for that amount we expected a more premium experience. Our server worked incredibly hard, but it was obvious the pool was understaffed for a busy summer Saturday. We spent a lot of time waiting for food and drinks; not because of the staff, but because there simply weren't enough of them. The DJ, however, was fantastic, and the pool food was surprisingly good.
Before checking out, I reviewed our bill and found charges for room service and another restaurant we never visited. The front desk removed the incorrect charges immediately without any hassle, so my advice is simply to take a minute to review your bill before you leave.
Overall, we had a wonderful weekend. The resort is beautiful, the staff genuinely cares, and while there were a few operational hiccups, they didn't overshadow a fun and relaxing girls' getaway. We'd definitely come back.

Great resort experience. I would highly recommend it for families and golf outings. The resort features very clean and spacious rooms with access to a large gym, multiple restaurants, multiple golf courses and practice areas.
