Was told there were multiple restaurants on the property.
All of the upcharges
Hot room, it never cooled off. Lights, coffee machine, and electrical outlets not working.
No vent in the restroom and VERY LOW ceilings.
Clean rooms, friendly staff, indoor pool, smoke area for my husband.
The hotel has many scattered sitting areas throughout which are pleasant to sit in. The food at the restaurant was tasty.
The location felt remote to the Dallas area.
Nice and clean
Everything was great
12 mornings in the USA in 4 states and it was the best breakfast by a long way. awesome gym and indoor pool, great hotel
The man who checked us in was excellent. The traffic on the way had me stressed, and he calmed me down. I asked for a particular Starbucks iced tea, and they bent over backwards to make it for me. The Club sandwich we ordered was delicious, as well as the fabulous french fries. The man who helped us inside & the one who checked us out were terrific.
Great accomodations friendly helpful staff beautiful amenities
Love the rooms
Nothing loved it all
We stayed one night out in Richardson (live in Dallas) for a girls night with an event nearby. Front desk was great. Got an early check in that I really needed. Other customers were being rude to the front desk & they remained poised and pleasant. Valet parking person was hard to locate so I parked in a spot he uses, took my things in, went back out to find him and gave him my key. The next day when i was leaving he took my tip and walked right by my suitcase instead of putting it in my trunk for me and it was $20 to park overnight. Room was comfortable and very clean. Not a good view but we did not go Richardson for the view. They charge for bottles of water and I know that some hotels do that but has not happened to us ever before but, again, we understand it is a common practice particularly at mid priced hotels. We will be back the next time we have an event at the place nearby. Best part was the person at the front desk.
I stayed here twice this year, 4 nights in August and in 2 nights in October/November.
In August I booked a room with Concierge Lounge Access. The room itself was OK, but the Lounge was disappointing. Not what you would expect when you are paying > $330/night. Later I tried the food at the restaurant (R), and was similarly disappointed.
I returned to Renaissance Richardson on October 31st and stayed for two nights. This time I used points (I am a Gold Elite member). 28,000 points / night (corresponding to about $200/night) for a regular room without breakfast (not splurging on a concierge lounge this time, lesson learned) seemed reasonable. That is until I tried taking a shower at 7 AM and discovered that there was no hot water. Calling the Front Desk did not help. Luckily for me the room was equipped with a (faulty but somewhat operational) coffee maker, two paper cups, and an ice bucket. I half filled the bucket with cold water, heated some water in the coffee maker, added it to the cold water in the bucket and eventually obtained about half a gallon of warm water, which I poured over myself using a paper cup. After repeating this process two more times I was ready to go downstairs to eat a lackluster $20 breakfast.
At 7 PM there still was no hot water, and the front desk was still unhelpful. So I repeated the above process which by the way vividly reminded me of my childhood spent in Soviet Union. This time I went out for dinner (not in the hotel restaurant, I gave it enough chances) and it was delicious.
Hot water finally appeared at around 11 PM at which time I was finally able to take a bath and to wash my hair.
The following morning I was checking out and asked how was my stay. I said it was disappointing. The front desk clerk acted surprised, but acknowledged that the lack of hot water was reasonable grounds for disappointment. He said that I am going to get 5,000 points back (about $40 or about 10% of the cost of two nights’ stay). I kinda rolled my eyes, but said OK.
Needless to say, as of now no points appeared on my account.
Room was very clean.
Front desk staff would not answer the phone . Needed an answer about late check in . Lady would answer and put you on hold. Was on hold for 38 minutes on the first cal , 14 minutes 2nd call. No one every came back to answer the call after they put you on hold. Called 5 times. NO ANSWER.
