Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Danbury - I-84 by IHG

I recently booked two rooms, six nights, at the hotel for a family event. When the event was moved by two days, I requested to adjust my reservation by two days. While I was happy to pay the higher price, the hotel's insistence that I forfeit my $250 deposit felt like unnecessary roughness, especially since the original reservation said that the reservation was cancellable until the day of the booking (I did miss that somehow although though the reservation was "cancellable", I would lose my deposit. Huh???)

while I belong to the IHG loyalty club and generally like the brand, I may have to reconsider. Not cool IHG. There is a reason your industry is called "hospitality".

Truth be told, I am an IHG credit card holder and will usually look for a Holiday Inn Express because of familiarity and the free breakfast...:) Planning a trip to see a Grandson play college football in Danbury, CT (Catholic University vs Western Connecticut) I was pleased to find this Holiday Inn Express-I-84 a couple of miles away from the stadium. We were going to spend the weekend in Danbury and so we were looking for a little more than an overnight stay. The Holiday Inn did not disappoint. It has been newly renovated, and they did a nice job with this task. There is a generous parking lot to start. The lobby is well lit with an endless cup of coffee service, the breakfast area was big enough and our room was comfortable. We were welcomed by Samantha who was very cheery and accommodating. And I would say that the convenience to the stadium, local restaurants a supermarket across the street and I-84 made this Holiday Inn Express a great spot to spend a weekend in Danbury, CT

The staff at the hotel were friendly and welcoming. The room which was serviced by Veronica was spotlessly clean and comfortable. Decent breakfast too.

One of the better HI Xpress in new England. We used to stay at Pricier Holiday Inn no comparison. Excellent dining options nearby especially Craft next door. Front desk helped me fix an erroneous app reservation including restoring points i would have lost. 5 minutes off 84 and 15 to NY border.

Crisp clean property. Nice welcome. Room was fully stocked. AC and heat worked well. Thermostat was easy to operate. No loud bathroom fan. Breakfast was satisfactory. Pleasant staff. I recommend and would return.

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable.

This is our 4th time staying here on our road trip from Maine to PA. Always comfortable, easy access to Interstate...and a GREAT restaurant nearby, Rosie’s Tomorrows.

Been staying there for 10 years now and this is the third time I was put in room 214 which is right next to the elevator shaft
All you hear constantly is the noise from the elevator going up and down
The bedroom is right up against the elevator wall cannot get a good nights sleep
The hotel was not booked to capacity and I should have requested another room and next year when I go there I will let them know that I will NOT accept any room near the elevator
Other than that they did a great job on the renovation
