It was a really nice place and everyone was extremely friendly and helpful with everything.
Here on a work trip and our bartender, Adam, is amazing! Very tentative and remembered our drink order from the night before. Top notch!
Just a heads, the floor started to hold water in room 813 by the front door. I do not know if it's the ac leaking or something else.
Staff was friendly and helpful. They were quick to move us to another room when I saw a cockroach and brought it to their attention. Unfortunately this caused my partner anxiety and she did not sleep the second two nights there.
charged us $50 for parking after they said it was included when we purchased the room. The entire hotel smelled like marijuana… when you walked in the employees were smoking in the non-smoking area so it was pretty gross
It is a great location to Daikin Park. Our room was very small without a refrigerator?? We made do with the ice bucket to put our energy drinks in for the next day but it would not have worked out very well if you have meds that needed to be cold or for small children/babies.
It did have a great atmosphere and the employees were always friendly and helpful.
It was a great value for the location
Staff at this hotel are absolutely the best. Rooms were a bit outdated such as the bathrooms needing caulking, shower head low on wall, but the staff makes up for it and I would still stay there again.
Artisan and John were AMAZING!!! My fiancé and I were in town for Hyrox Houston at the convention center and we initially got an AirBNB and when we arrived it smelled like mold and made my fiancé very sick. We scrambled last minute to find a hotel since almost everything was booked due to all the events this weekend. My fiancé called The Whitehall Hotel and explained the situation to Artisha and we were promptly taken care of and given a room and we asked if we could check in right away (even though it was 6am when we called, we wanted out of the AirBNB) and she told us we could check in at 8am. My fiancé and I arrived at the hotel and were kindly greeted by John. He even waived our early check in due to the circumstance and gave us a breakfast waiver since we have our competition today and we had such a hard time last night. The hotel was very nice and very clean! Thank you so much to Artisha and John for being such an amazing employee and taking such great care of us!
Jose and Adam were awesome at the bar! Very attentive and quick on service!
Clean & the staff was amazing
The staff at the hotel are great. Very pleasant. However the hotel is dated and worn out. The rooms are more 2.5-3 star then what would be expected downtown. We stayed in 2 hiltons the 2 nights prior and was on a different level. The rooms have little lighting. No mini fridge, no mirrors in hallway to check self before leaving. Damaged floors, stained/ discolored tiles, no night lighting in bathroom. Smart tv didnt connect to internet so couldnt stream anything for kids. Not even comp water bottles in room. A plus was the ac which when it turned on by thermostat cooled the room fast, but it was soo loud it woke you up a few times a night. Property needs updating and TLC.
I had such an amazing stay at The Whitehall Houston! My best friend and I stayed for five nights while visiting Houston to celebrate my birthday and go to the rodeo, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations.
From start to finish, everything felt seamless—but what truly made our trip unforgettable were John and Ana. They were absolutely incredible. Both were so welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind, and they went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of the entire time. Any small issues that came up were handled quickly and professionally, making our stay completely stress-free.
It’s rare to come across service that stands out this much, but John and Ana truly made us feel valued and taken care of. They played a huge role in making my birthday trip so special.
We will absolutely be back and we’ll be looking forward to seeing them again specifically! Thank you both so much for such an amazing experience. Love Room 702 xoxo
Poor communication. Charged me an upgrade fee I didn’t even request. They say it was requested from my mobile phone number which make no sense since I don’t even know their number. 180 tagged on to my 350 for one night stay. I asked them to print me out where I requested an upgrade and so they did and all it showed was the charge but to request or no message from men saying I wanted to upgrade. I had a flight to catch so I didn’t have time to argue with them.
Service was top notch throughout our stay. John and Shirley at the front desk were simply AMAZING! Room was a bit on the smaller size as was the bathroom but we weren't in it that long to realize.
To be perfectly clear, I was at the hotel for less than 12 hours - in late and out early, so I did not use any other property amenities for dining rooms. I was right next to the elevator and room was a bit rundown.
The bathroom was so small I had to close the door to use it or get into the shower.
The King mattress was too soft for me, l , bedding was a sheet and a thin cover/ bedspread. That bedspread was scratchy! no blanket in closet. ( No, I didnt call the front desk, I just dealt with it.)
Evening staff was… acceptable. Morning staff seeped very on top of things.
However- the price is good for downtown Houston and I will likely give it a second shot and see if my next room is in better shape.
The hotel is very good but the best is the restaurant. “No way Jose” was incredible friendly, gave me a lot of tips about Houston, where to go and visit. He for sure made my visit much better and funny!!
Check in was good as well as checkout. Adam at the bar was awesome, but the bar closes at 10, so don't plan on hanging out at this hotel. Tiled flooring in our room moved and was chipped, there were screws in the door holding the door together with rusty hinges and the part that had carpet was disgusting. All the furniture had a lot of wear, but at least the bed was clean. The bathroom is smaller than a cruise ship room and it's very dated and overpriced. Both Elevators were not working the first day we arrived. A family members room flooded and were moved to a smaller room with no fridge, which was not accommodating since they were in a handicapped room to begin with. I would not recommend staying here for the price.
This place was not as advertised. It is dated and subpar for the price tag. Our room’s safe had no door; I was afraid to use the dresser out of fear of breaking the doors; the shower head was missing parts and the body wash bottle was missing the dispensing knob. There were no usb ports. The spring mattress has seen better days, and my back is paying for it. The extra towels we requested had holes in them. The staff did offer to change us to another room and they gave us a couple of discount coupons for the restaurant. There was only one restaurant open, and the food was decent. They advertise shuttle service but it’s only within one mile from hotel. The location was good, right next to the freeway exits, but there wasn’t much to do within walking distance. The staff was nice and courteous.
I will not stay here again. They need to massively renovate the rooms and other areas as well to make it worth the price tag.
