A beautiful old place, but needed some extra attention

lobby had an odor to it from flooding. Hallways were messy

I love Cherry valley. I used to go there all the time as a little kid.

Cons:

umm the bathroom definitely had black mold on the ceiling and the wood on the balcony was rotted. nails sticking out everywhere from the wood being broken

Pros:

I love having the restaurant on site so when I am traveling for work and don't have to worry about dinner. Staff are always so helpful and welcoming. I also LOVE the private balcony or patio with my room!

In one word this is terrible ..
Pros:

I have a history with Cherry Valley and have stayed many times over many years but I won’t be back . The hotel is dirty not well mantained and a safety hazard.

Cons:

*Outside door not secured, tape placed over door to keep it from shutting.i did speak to the desk regarding the issue and was told a work order was in. This is a major safety issue
*I stay at a lot of hotel, dirty and unkempt high areas ( people look at everything)carpet stained and dirty. The over all look is flop house ..
* Your menu in the restaurant is also dated and lacks imagination, where is your chef? Where is the creativity? No Gluten free menu available? This is 2026 many people have allergies and are GF.
• Wait staff in your restaurant are ill-formed about their own menu Why? There should be staff huddles going over the menu before service. I prefer a drink from the bar, I got my appetizer before my drink and I had to remind the server of my drink . Poor customer.service!

The location is gorgeous the room was very clean and cute the walking trail was so beautiful 😍 and to the staff they were all amazing from the restaurant and the front desk had such an amazing awesome experience

Cons:

After booking my room 7 weeks in advance, I didn't like being put in a room where our view was a tree and weed patch because our room wasn't ready at 4:20. Then we had to listen to a dog bark. People with their dogs should be in an area by themselves.
