It was a nice stay. The staff were amazing. Try the breakfast burrito at the Cafe.
How safe and secure the property is, and location
There wasn’t that much parking so I felt like I had to get a valet service
Very nice stay. No pool or hot tub but lots to do around the area.
We had a wonderful stay celebrating my husband’s birthday. I reached out to Ali in Sales beforehand, and she made sure everything felt special. Sydney was warm and welcoming at check‑in, and our room was beautiful and exceptionally clean. In the Concierge Lounge, Alyson went above and beyond with her kindness and hospitality.
In the restaurant, Tom and Jeremy took great care of us—the food was delicious and the service outstanding.
We truly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Thank you to the entire Whitney Peak team for making our stay memorable.
Easy check in and out. Right in center of activities.
Lovely classy hotel. Staff were all very kind and helpful.
Pleasant surprise with free concert outside hotel front door.
Nice central location. The front desk and valet staff were superb.
The facilities were not well taken care of. The ac in the room was non existent. The housekeeping of the room was well below standard, hairs on the bathroom ceiling, stained floors/grout.
Great bed; great location; good staff
The bed sits on a frame made of plywood; which sticks out at the corners. My wife hit her shin in the 1st minute we were in the room. I put a pillow down on both corners to protect from happening again.
You need to put some type of protection on these corners
Had a wonderful experience. The reception and information was excellent. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The room was clean. The location was perfect within walking distance of many Reno attractions.
I travel frequently for business, and my employer booked me a stay at the Whitney Peak Hotel, complete with executive floor privileges. Because I was traveling with my wife and three children (including a toddler and a 3-month-old infant), a seamless experience was highly important. While there were bright spots among the staff, the hotel failed on almost every front regarding facilities and basic internal communication.
The Highlights: Exceptional Staff
I want to specifically commend the housekeeping staff. One lady in particular was incredibly warm and helpful to my wife every day, even assisting with refilling her water jug while my wife was in the room with the children. Additionally, the young men working valet were consistently professional and kind, always opening the doors for us. It is clear that while the hotel's management is lacking, the service staff are individuals with true quality and heart who are doing their best.
The Failures: Lack of Hospitality & Infrastructure
Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was a disaster. From the moment I checked in, I felt unwelcome. The front desk agent lacked any basic customer service skills—no smile, no greeting, and no information about hotel amenities or the executive perks my employer had paid for.
Beyond the service, the facilities are struggling. We were initially assigned a room on the 13th floor that was sitting at 72°F. The thermostat was locked at 64°F, but the AC simply could not keep up. We were forced to haul our entire family and all our bags down to the lobby, then back up with maintenance, only to have to move our entire setup again to a room on the 5th floor.
The "Eviction" & Communication Breakdown
The final straw was the end of our stay. My employer paid to extend our reservation, yet the hotel’s internal communication is broken. At noon, the floor manager knocked on our door asking when we were moving out. After sorting it out with my boss, I went to the lobby only to find my room keys deactivated. I was essentially evicted for several hours because the staff claimed their systems were "crashing." Being locked out with an infant and a toddler, only to have the staff treat the situation as if it were my fault, was unacceptable.
The Verdict
A hotel should prioritize hospitality, but I found very little of it here. Between the broken HVAC infrastructure on the upper floors and the sheer incompetence regarding reservations and communication, this was an incredibly stressful stay. Honestly, the 100°F heat of Las Vegas looks like paradise compared to the frustrating experience of staying at the Whitney Peak. I cannot recommend this hotel for corporate travel or families, even though the housekeeping and valet teams deserve much better management.
This place is amazing…..our room was absolutely beautiful
It was beautiful room! Really nice and great atmosphere. Bed was super comfortable. Loved it.
Parking sucked
Overall a pretty good experience. The rooms were very nice and plenty of af amenities. Caution though; parking is across the street in a garage that you have to pay for. The other option is valet parking at $30. If you bring a pet, expect a $75 charge, but they do give you a pet gift bag. Breakfast is not complimentary, it will cost between $10-$20.
Had to move rooms in the middle of the night because a/c was not working. It was 80 degrees in the room. Disappointed with how that was handled. No compensation offered for the complete inconvenience.
We were very happy with our stay. Our family was there for the USBC National Bowling Tournament. The layout of the 2 bedroom King room was perfect for our stay and the meals at the Cafe Whitney were excellent.
Friendly staff, clean, spacious room, comfortable beds and pillows.

We had a wonderful stay at this dog-friendly property and would gladly return. Traveling with our dogs can sometimes be challenging, but the hotel made the experience easy from start to finish. The property was exceptionally clean, well-maintained, and very easy to access from the main road. The room was spacious and furnishings were well kept.
The staff provided outstanding customer service, always greeting us with a smile and making both us and our dogs feel welcome. One of the highlights of our stay was the food—everything we ordered was fresh, delicious, and exceeded our expectations.
If you’re looking for a comfortable, pet-friendly place with excellent service, great food, and a clean, convenient location, this property is an excellent choice. Highly recommended!
Sydney was very understanding and accomodating! Enjoyed my stay because she was so nice and such a sweetheart!!
