Pros:

Great hotel
Pros:

The hotel was in a great location. Less than 10 minutes to the Trevi Fountain and near some great restaurants. The room was spacious and great for our family. There is an elevator, although it is small, and there is air conditioning. Note: there is a flight of stairs to get in and out of the hotel.

Cash grab booking. They knew they were over booked and still took bookings and pawed people to their other locations
Pros:

Booked a superior room in the Trevi collection and was told on arrival that we were being moved to a sister hotel. Got to the Al manthia and was greeted with a strong sewer smell and put in a quadruple room but was told it’s a junior suite even though it showed the pictures on the site. Requested an iron but to be told they only had one and you could only use it in the breakfast seating area. The quadruple room is two levels with the top half like a sauna as the air con did not work and leaving the windows open only cooled the down stairs. Bed was like a slab of stone and walls were so thin we thought someone was walking up our stairs even though it was next door

Mixed bag..
Pros:

We was booked to stay at the Trevi collection hotel but upon check In we was told that we was staying at one of their sister hotels .. this hotel. No explanation as we booked specifically the Trevi collection with Easyjet. Never have I been told that we could stay at one of their chain hotels within my booking..upon arrival at reception there was a very strong sewerage smell when u walk down the steps.. this was very strong and was there throughout the whole of our 3 night stay.. several guests we spoke to said the same thing about the awful smell. We checked in at 3pm and was given a quadruple room 301. The room was lovely and spacious. Clean had a minu fridge amd bar which u had to pay for if u use any of the mini bar but it does state this in the room. There was a double bed down stairs which was kept in a wardrobe which u pulled down but we used the upstairs bed. Beds are very hard and we got several bites in the night while staying here... very noisy street so hard to sleep at night and no aircon worked.. which is why we booked trevi collection as it had aircon sk this was very disappointing. The maid was trying to get innour room to clean while we was a sleep but we put the lock kn we wasn't awarenof the do not disturb button where the key card goes and receptioned phoned and woke us up asking if we wanted pur room cleaned which you would of thought that the door being locked and occupancy light on they would get the hint we didt want to be disturbed. The staff was polite although pushy into selling you trips obviously on commission..the lady on the desk never said hello had a face like thunder and was often on personal calls yelling and laughing and joking while we walked in and waited for our taxi. Poor customer service on her behalf..breakfast looked shocking but couldn't eat it anyways with the smell of the hotel reception was way too strong. Location was good near spanish steps and trevi fountain.. would be stay again..honestly no we wouldn't

Excellent stay at this hotel.
Pros:

When we arrived at The Trevi Collection hotel we were told that we weren't staying there,a mini bus would take us to another of their hotels within Rome ?????? The La Manthia hotel was lovely.A short distance from trevi fountain,Spanish steps and down the hill to Barberini underground and the 'hop on/off' bus tour.
We were greeted by a nice and polite receptionist.Paid city tax €60.And took the small lift to the 4th floor. As soon as we entered the room you could see how clean it was.Lovely room with a nice view.Opposite where the Italian president lives.Area felt safe,a little hilly, but didnt mind that.Would stay there again.Breakfast was good too.

Location 4 star... hotel probably 3
Pros:

We had a family room which was clean and quite spacious. But we had two double beds not the double and two singles that we had booked. The hotel definately did not feel like 4 stars. 3 at best. The reception staff were mixed... they were kind of friendly but everything we asked came with an inflated price and was a little suspicious/untrustworthy (the taxi will charge you for luggage etc when they didnt...), they were also abrupt and seemed limited in advice. The breakfast was not great. The pastries were all stale and i didnt quite trust the cooked food as it was obviously the food from the day before mixed into other dishes ... Perhaps if they had a fewer offerings of higher quality it would be better. Excellent location though and was easy to walk around the city and to the metro etc there were a range of places to eat near by

Seamless
Pros:

This was a seamless and enjoyable stay. The staff were first class, breakfast brilliant and the rooms spotless with super beds. Not a huge room but wow what a location. Great restaurants nearby, 10 minute walk to Trevi and walking distance to all that Rome has to offer. Can't really fault much except thin walls are an issue and suitcases have to be carried down/up stairs.

Beautiful hotel in room
Pros:

I recently stayed at Al Manthia with my family and I couldn’t be more impressed. The service was outstanding—staff were friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The hotel’s location is perfect, nestled in a quiet part of town but still within easy reach of all the main sites. Everything was clean, making for a very comfortable experience. I’m honestly not sure why there are negative reviews. You can’t compare the hotels in Rome to a Vegas hotel. You are visiting an old and historic city that holds lots of character. My family and I had nothing but a positive experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area. Thank you to Paolo and the rest of the staff. Ci rivedremo presto.

Short stay in Rome
Pros:

The previous review suggested this is the worst hotel in Italy. Unless the reviewer has been to all of them how can he say this!
The hotel is clean we had a reasonable sized room for 2 nights, there was nothing wrong with it . Maybe for a longer holiday it could have had more storage space however ample for a short break. Reception was possibly too businesslike and came across a little abrupt.
Location is fine with a short walk to the Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps.
Did not take breakfast. Had no problems with this hotel for a short stay.

Worst place to stay in Italy
Pros:

I would not recommend this hotel at all. Booked 4 months in advance and they rebooked our room prior to our arrival. They accommodated us by placing my family of four in two of the smallest room they have. The beds were from the 70s, terrible, I honestly think the floor would have been softer to sleep on. The next day we were moved to what they call a quad room with a steps. This was even worse, the upper bed size is fine but the mattress was not great at all. The lower bed was double with no plugs located any where next to the bed for a Cpap or phone charger.

We took the desk clerk to the room and he explained this is just the way it is.

Do not book this hotel at alll!! Terrible.
