Best Western Kilmarnock Hotel

This place is a dump. It is the only hotel in town and as such I guess they don't feel as if they need to do any cleaning or repairs. They were booked solid so I had no choice but to stay. I attached pictures so that you can see. The carpet in the hall is one big stain. The hallway walls are full of stains, scuff marks and holes. A piece of trim had fallen and it was being held in place by duck tape. The room carpet was equally disgusting. To the point I had to put down plastic in order to walk. I never removed my shoes or socks. There were stains on the curtain and stains on the walls. There was mold around the tub, random strands of long black hair in the sink and tub. The toilet paper holder was broken. They also had a limited number of towels and washcloths as my room had none. The TV remote looked as if it had been chewed by a dog. They also allow pets. This was not disclosed on the site or posted anywhere in the hotel. As someone with allergies this was extremely unsettling. I ended up going across the street to Walmart purchasing towels, washcloths, bleach and lysol. Yes that's right I purchased all of that for a hotel stay.

The only bright spot about this hotel is the staff. The staff is unbelievable nice.

Dirty. Loud. Stinky. Awful breakfast. Stay away from coffee! Awesome front desk personnel. Great location. Hot shower! Bed was comfortable. Easy checkin.

Worst hotel experience I have ever had. The room was dirty, stains on the bed, hair in the shower, bugs everywhere. There were large groups of people loitering in and outside of the hotel, clearly they were not all guests. I noticed several people using the laundry facilities, then going to their cars with clean clothes and leaving (obviously not guests). Late into the evening, cars were parked out front of the hotel with groups of people hanging out, cigarette and marijuana smoke everywhere and being pulled into my room by the AC unit. No staff member from the hotel made an attempt to intervene. Police were called, crowds somewhat dispersed, but shouting went on out front after police left- still no intervention by hotel staff. DO NOT STAY HERE!

BED BUG ALERT. STAY AWAY from Kilmarnock Best Western. I vacated my room when swarmed by bed bugs two hours after going to bed. Was the only available room in town so I didn't have any other options. Ended up staying in my truck that night instead. No shower curtain in bathroom, no soap. No working internet. Active drug and prostitution scene. Cannot recommend staying here at all.

The property was as described. Clean and convenient. The front desk clerk was awful. Had the woman 1st in line to check in wait 5 minutes while she tended to the dryer. She never got off her cell phone on a personal call when checking either of us in. Later when i went to the front desk and asked for the filter needed for the in room coffee maker, she rudely said there were none and that i could get coffee from the lobby.

Our stay was nice. Breakfast was nice.

Certainly not a clean property, but I’ve stayed in worse. I only stay here because it’s the only hotel in town.

And all the hotels we’ve ever stayed in this bed was the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in even the bed at home is not comfortable. Room was very nice.

The TV didn’t work, the carpet was filthy, breakfast was not served until 8 o’clock, which is supposed to be at 6 o’clock. The coffee, terrible. The staff would not get off their cell phones to help you. The tub in the shower was very slippery and I would assume a lawsuit will follow soon when someone slips. Their water is very hard. They need a water softener. I could go on, but I will never stay at this hotel ever again.

Our room was so stuffy and damp, there was water dripping out of the air conditioner and soaking the carpet. We could hear the TV from the lobby all night.. The internet was out the whole time. The breakfast was horrible - only scrambled eggs and sausage and a few dried-out pastries. The coffee machine didn't work. We ended up eating out. We got water on the floor while taking a shower (our fault) and used the towels to clean it up. When we asked for clean towels, we were told there were none. The second morning we found roaches in the room. We decided to check our early (staying only two nights instead of three) and were told only the manager could cancel the third night. I called when we got home and was told I had to go through Expedia to get refunded. Expedia contacted the hotel and they agreed to reimburse the charge for the third night, but haven't done it. This used to be a really nice hotel but I won't stay there again.

First arriving to the hotel, we were greeted with a toddler at the front desk sitting on the workers lap. We then had to pause our check in so she could take the baby outside for pickup. The elevator was dirty and had not cleaned. Upon entering the room, first glimpse it was okay. After opening the curtains, the window was dirty. Thought it was outside but no luck, it was the inside. Bathroom soap dish had scum from
Previous guest. No other rooms available. Thankfully we had Lysol wipes to disinfect areas of the room. Pools were never cleaned and had green stuff floating around although we was told of pool hours so it was in use. The next day, we requested clean towels. The cleaning lady told me all she had in her cart was the ones she used to clean the rooms. I requested fresh wash cloths and towels again. Never received them. At 10 pm upon returning to the hotel there was a sign at the door that said helping another customer. We waited. Finally, the lady that was outside smoking came in and asked could she help me. I asked for more towels. She asked where my old ones were. Told her in the room. Explained to her the request earlier. She went on and on about not having a lot of them. Finally, she goes to the back room and returns with two saying this is all she has. It’s three of us standing there (husband and child with me). Told me she would bring another up to room. This was the ONLY hotel within the town to stay except a motel which was probably better. NEVER AGAIN

The continental breakfast was horrible. Everything was gone by 8:30am and never restocked and it was open till 9:30 am. Had loud noises till midnight in room beside us and in the hall.

If anyone gives this hotel about a 1, they have to be joking. Soap dish still had soap in it from last occupants. Hair in the sink, trash can, and floor. Asked cleaning people for extra towel, she said she did not have any. Free breakfast was terrible had to go out to eat. The pool had some green stuff at the bottom to assure nobody swam in that. The fact that I read reviews of 7.8, I am like, you need to live life much better places than this out there.
Even the staff complained about not support from management.

Friendly staff clean rooms

The staff were friendly. The beds were lumpy. Two of our llittle bottles of shampoos and lotions were dirty. There were stains on some of the walls and the lamp shade. There were spider webs in the upper corner of the shower. One side of the shower rod was pulled away from the wall. Breakfast was till 9:30. There was nothing left at 9:00. No bread, no pancakes, no eggs or meats. We went to the front desk and asked but was told the chef had stepped out and what was there was it. The pancake mix had been out all week, the mix wasn't delivered. A pan of eggs was made 15 minutes before but they were all gone. She was willing to make more eggs but we declined.

It was not so good. There was a toilet plunger outside of my door.
