Precise dates we stayed at this hotel are vague as we would like to stay anonymous. My partner & I visited this hotel last year. Although we had an ok time, I would say the hotel is pretty run down and is poorly managed. There was a big wedding going on and we were treated differently from the wedding party and almost felt out of place. The venue is very noisy and on the day of our visit we noticed over crowding in the hallways. The food is abysmal, we had to make other plans for food. The rooms are ok but in need of a refurbishment. Our room was clean but looked like it could do with a deep clean, it felt like someone had not long checked out. We tried to settle into our room but the temperature was unbearable, when we complained about the temperature we spoke to a manager I believe his name was Matthew. He was very rude and abrupt and only cared about the wedding party and not about our stay. I would not recommended this hotel. We did not chance staying for breakfast after the night we had. We won’t be returning.
Jake F the receptionist was very helpful and nice. Made the check in process easy and smooth.
Great friendly hotel. All the staff are so polite and always have a smile. I stay here every so often for work and every time I get a very warm welcome.
Stayed for the 2nd time and same as my first stay. No issues and clean room, enough choice for breakfast. Met some of the same team as last time.

How to be back in April
Do not use this hotel unless you want your valuables stolen. A necklace was left on the bedside table in the room, partner realised after checking out and travelling part of the way home. Hotel mysteriously cannot find it but it was left on the bedside table, only person who could have entered the room would have been housekeeping. Clearly they have thieving staff working here. Will be reporting to the police and escalating to their chain Best Western. Not happy at all.

the situation of the hotel was convenient
however, the pictures online didnt reflect the reality
the hotel was very poor and cheaply kitted out, which is fine but we were early back to our room on the Friday evening and I wanted to watch the TV - the music was pounding from some work do which was on the premises
I wanted to drown the noise out
the TV didnt work!! for me, this is unacceptable- we were in a larger more expensive room
the room was freezing there was air con on, and no way to turn it off
the two single beds (which I didnt have a problem with) were each so small they were really for a child
breakfast the next morning was ok, the dining area was very cheap and canteen ish
the bread for toasting was clearly the 'saver' option
my issue was that the TV wasn't working and nothing was done about it.
my niece who was staying also paid cash, the hotel required a deposit for possible damage and took £100 from her - on leaving the person on reception (who was different) didnt believe her and wasn't intending to pay her back - being treated like this was unacceptable
the two best things were the lady on reception when we arrived ( think her name began with I - it was the afternoon of 16th jan so you can check ). she was delightful and also Doreen in the breakfast restaurant who was equally delightful
I was left so impressed with the customer service provided by Prudhvi and Ipek that I feel I need to leave a review, when I stayed at London Chigwell Prince Regent Hotel.
Coming face to face with Prudhvi, he efficiently and confidently sorted the check-in, making sure I had everything I need, and didn't leave anything out, and was very good at answering any questions I had. He was super patient, really listened to what I had to say, and made time for everything to go off to the best possible start. Beyond being professional, he was warm, friendly, and hilarious which completely put me at ease, and turned the whole experience into something I'll never forget.
Ipek the person who helped me extend my stay, was no less impressive. She was so patient, understanding and accommodating that she took the stress out of the situation, and the process of extending my stay was as smooth as silk.
The reason that these people stood out was the way they treated me as a person, rather than just a customer, which was absolutely fantastic. My interactions didn’t feel rushed, or transactional, they were filled with attentiveness, warmth and basically a clear intention to make sure I feel at home.
Both Prudhvi and Ipek are top notch and would be the reason I go back to this hotel and tell others about it. Memorable service like this is exactly what turns a stay into something that sticks with you.
A friends 40th birthday celebration was held in the Princess suite.
Buffet meal was provided, staff were on the ball, food great.
I had attended an evening wedding buffet reception 18months previous and that was just as good.
Would recommend for a social do, staff discreet and efficient.
I booked well in advance to stay at The Prince Regent Hotel in Chigwell for a stay on 20/12/25 for 1 night at £154 p/n per room. The hotel was not up to expectations. Our room was upgraded to superior instead of a standard would like to have known what the standard room looked like. Very disappointed with facilities all round. Carpet was badly worn, oil filled raditator in room, room was cold as window was left open. Poor bathroom facilities, tiles in bathroom need attention. Not happy at all would not stay there again not worth the money. Breakfast was generous with different varieties.
Where do I start got to the room it was the furthest room in the hotel. The room had two windows one looking onto a horrendous roof the other straight at someone’s front door. There was two little oil radiators as I learned the heating didn’t work. Decor very dated carpets paint ect needs a massive upgrade. Decided to have a bath found you can’t get the plug back out as broken had to use tweezers to get it out. Bathroom door lock broken so you couldn’t shut the door as you would be locked in. Went for breakfast food was just about warm so cold before you could even finish it. My daughter had a shower and picked a new towel only to find it was filthy with black pubic hair all over it I was nearly sick. Went to reception to complain they took a photo of the towel I demanded to be moved as I’d booked for four nights. We got moved to a better room but breakfast still Luke warm. This full hotel needs a massive upgrade as what they are selling is not what you get. Also having to pay £10 for parking a day is wrong in a supposedly four star hotel should be free. Won’t be booking here again
Great hotel, perfect for families as we had a big group with kids. Enough fanily rooms. Refurbished and modern rooms. Car park and beautiful gardens. Enjoyed the breakfast selection. Every team member was helpful. Thank you Avik & team.
Super cute hotel, feels like you’re in the country. Breakfast was great! Highly recommend. My favorite is the history of the place, having been a mansion and a church.
Ashleigh at the bar was fantastic however the room was not worth the value for money as no heating a the heaters provided were loud so we ended up not using them at all.
Reception advised and wanted to give us another heater to which we said no.

Stayed at Chigwell with my colleagues. Great food and breakfast was good as well. The room was good but no Aircon, the staff are very good in the restaurant and reception. Will be back.

We had an awful experience at an Airbnb so last minute had to book this hotel and it was nothing short of outstanding particularly because of Jack on reception. He went above and beyond for us to make us feel welcome and safe. Lovely room and staff, highly recommended.
