Stourport Manor Hotel

The room needed a good clean, lots of cobwebs, felt damp and cold no heating on, bathroom needs a deep clean. No additional vanity items supplied

Breakfast was minimal
TV didnt work in some rooms
Shower came out as a dribble in one of the rooms
Little bit dated decor

Shower could have been a bit more powerful. Didn’t like the scrambled egg.

Food is expensive for and they serve low quality food

Dinner (fish and chips) was disappointing. Small portion of fish looked like it had been reheated (probably from a packet) and not freshly cooked. I also had the dregs of the barrel when I ordered a pint which had to be pointed out to staff (although they did swap it for a fresh one).

The HVAC in the room did not work and so the room was cold. I was given an electric heater to warm the room. The executive double room is advertised as having a bath and a shower. The room I stayed in had no bath.

We booked a suite as it was my birthday weekend so wanted a little luxury treat and also my partner is an early riser so having a separte space for him to enjoy a cup of tea without distrubing myself was perfect however all was not perfect...on arrival there wasn't any reception staff had to wait to be checked in. On entering our "suite" the floors were dirty, there were dead insects in the window sills, used hair grips had been left by the tea facilities, the bathroom was dirty and not just a little bit and the toliet didnt work and proceeded to leak all over the bathroom floor. Went back to reception as I was not staying in the "suite" ok no problem will move you rooms...we weren't moved to another suite but instead moved to a "family room" which wasn't much better no main light in the room instead you have 4 tiny wall mounted lights that barely made a difference on! Very poor finishings everywhere in the room although at least the bathroom was clean this time! Same couldnt be said about the floor. I was refunded the difference between the cost of the 2 rooms and that was it! Very disappointed and ruined what should have been a lovely birthday treat. Such a shame because this hotel has the potential to be an amazing place.I can say it does have a nice big carpark just remember to enter your registration on arrival.

Meet and greet at reception not very welcoming or warm.

This was not priced as a budget hotel, but it is, it is Crossroads motel style, and shabby, despite looking like a nice country hotel in the pictures. Every little extra is charged ie using the pool, towel etc. Breakfast was costly and basic.

The evening meal is overpriced, and the quantity poor. The whole hotel feels like it needs an upgrade.

No garden view as promised; No cleaning or change of towels; toiletry; coffee; tea etc. although part of the deal and services paid for. Staff not trained in the bar for mixing drinks, or knowing how to use the barista machine.

Taxi to town, but was ok

Couldn't open the window as the lock wire was too short for you to have the window open which made the room extremely hot, the fan that was in the room couldn't turn on as the noise coming from it was horrendous, the drive way up you have to play dodge the pot hole and some where extremely big, when we turned up there was no one at reception and no way of getting hold of anyone to come and greet us,

- The shower head was awful
- Lots of mold in bathroom
- Black hair in bath tub (I am blonde)
- Black hair on bed
- No fridge in room
- Very dirty
- Staff not that helpful
- No biscuits in room
- Corridor unclean
- Dirty plates in restaurant (had to order out)
- My room was so noisy I had no sleep, felt very u safe like someone would enter room at any moment
- One of the light in room didnt even work
- No brochure or menu im room, no idea what was there (googled it)
- Dirty mark on mirror
- Called room service to get some plates and they said I had to travel to kitchen and carry plates and cutlery back to my room
- Wanted to use pool but was so put off from it.
- I paid for breakfast but didnt show up as everything was dirty

The whole place is a bit run down and neglected, a shame as it has so much potential to be a nice country manor style hotel with some investment and TLC.
Individually staff were nice but overall it’s understaffed and standards slip when it’s busy. For example having to ask for cups etc at breakfast, no staff member at the pool desk meaning we couldn’t enter, no one there on reception for check out.
Not up to the standard of a 4 star - no hairdryer or safe in the room, dirty tea cups not replaced in room. Also charging hotel guests £5 to use the pool and gym - most hotels would include this as standard.
