The accessible room I was in did not have any room down one side of the bed to turn the lights out
I had to sleep with the lights on all night
Because if you take the room card out of the slot the power goes off in the Electric sockets as well has the lights. I am unable to shuffle to the other side of the bed to turn out the lights due to my disability.
Has I have a nebuliser and a Electric Wheelchair which needs to be charged up overnight.
Great location
We was in a room at the back and right above something that made a noise the whole time we was there. I’m such a light sleeper and couldn’t get to sleep for the two nights we was there.
The hotel was clean, our room was excellent 3 adults sharing room 2 single beds 1 sofa bed all really comfortable, also room was really spacious would recommend this hotel, and would definitely stafe again close to all bars restaurants and ste seeing in York.
There was nothing i didn't like.
Would never return. Our room was not ready on arrival so we had to wait 45 mins past check in. When we reached our room the window was open and would not close . The room was absolutely freezing and the maintenance person had to come with his tools and fix it whilst we sat in the room whilst he drilled etc. This delayed us with our pre booked plans. The wardrobe door completely fell off. The room door was absolutely filthy. I have complained via email twice to the hotel direct as advised to at checkout, no acknowledgment from the hotel and I have called them three times to follow up. No one has called me back. Shocking service.
My first complaint, won’t use holiday inn again.
Couldn’t open any windows , extremely hot , zero fresh air, no fan in bathroom. Went for breakfast at 9 20 am first morning , bacon was so dried up I couldn’t cut it , eggs also dried up. Tried to make cup of tea at 10 pm , no milk , had to dress and go down 4 floors to get milk.
Good location for gigs at the Barbican
Staff checked on us after we got the room.
