Haven't stayed in a Holiday Inn before but knew it was part of IHG group + we were very happy
Pros:

We stayed here to run the Yorkshire Marathon which started at the University of York. The location was ideal within half an hour walk from the start but also an easy walk into the city centre. The hotel was clean + modern + staff lovely. The breakfast was very good with a good choice + accommodated gluten intolerance well.

Cons:

Unfortunately on the first night we were kept awake by a fan which seemed to be outside the back of the hotel where we were, otherwise the room was in a quiet location at the end of a corridor

Good comfortable hotel very convenient for York centre
Pros:

Check in quick. Staff efficient. Bed was extra large and comfortable. Towels were big and soft. Room 418 was quiet. Heating comfortable. Shower was efficient.A view of Clifford’s tower was nice. 3 minutes walk to the Barbican Centre and 5 minutes to centre of York,

Great hotel - we'll be back!!
Pros:

The hotel location is fantastic, just a few minutes walk to the centre of York & The Barbican where we attended a show.
All of the staff at the hotel were friendly & helpful. The hotel facilities were very good, nice reception area with a machine for booking ubers & even an umbrella hire machine!! We had a room on the 2nd floor which looked onto a garden at the back of the hotel & we could watch squirrels in the trees from our super comfortable bed.
There was a good shower with lovely toiletries & super fluffy towels & a nice breakfast with plenty of choice. I would definitely use this hotel again!

Comfy bed

Cons:

The room wasnt clean. There was sugar on the worktop under the window, hairs on the bathroom floor and in the shower and it hadn't been hoovered as there were blonde hairs and plastic from new clothing tags on the floor.
