A good value decent room
Pros:

Great location for Barbican.
Very dark and quiet room on top floor at the end of a corridor so had a long and peaceful sleep.
Nice welcome 😊

Cons:

Nothing but it was just for one night.

La recepcionista de la maniana fue super amable conmigo y me ayudo a resolver un tema con el siguiente hotel que tenia previsto en mi viaje, en Londres. ! 😍 Es un hotel con un buen standard basico tipo US. Habitacion grande, buen banio, lifts, y desayunador bueno. Si bien en el mapa no parece tan centrico, si lo es porque todo es cerca en York, caminando. El lobby es especialmente lindo y amplio! Tienen la pantalla para pedir un Uber si queres para irte con las valijas a la estacion de 👏

Cons:

No habia un plug para celulares samsung. Tuve que comprarme un adaptador.

Great potential.. just needs attention to detail.
Pros:

Location was excellent.

Breakfast was superb. Restaurant staff were friendly and efficient.

Cons:

We reported a blocked sink and a room phone that didn’t work. The sink was sorted in 15 mins. Three days later the phone was still out of action.

Our room wasn’t refreshed for two days.. we had to contact reception near the end of the day to have this attended to.

Comfortable hotel 5 mins walk from the Shambles
Pros:

Great location 5 mins walk from the Shambles, just over the river. We got a room upgrade so had a nice big room with a sofa. Reception was very friendly and helpful. The beds were comfortable and it was nice and quiet.

Cons:

Although the hotel was a good budget hotel, it definitely didn't feel like a 4 star hotel, so it felt overpriced. We didn't have breakfast at the hotel because again we thought £18 was too much. Otherwise all OK.

Room wasn't clean on arrival. Dirty tea spoon, bin not empty with sanitary towel product left from previous occupant. Later discovered Double bed not properly made, stain on bedding, and no sheet on the other bed. Beds were not as comfortable as other Holiday inn beds. Breakfast over priced for the standard - learned from our mistake and went to local places after 1st morning.

Very nice and friendly staff. Very good location. I would recommend
Pros:

Very clean. Redecorated. Fairly good breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Very comfortable bed. Nice shower gel and shampoo.

Cons:

The prices are a bit high, but that’s usual for York. The toilet is too high. I have no idea who designed that.
