It is rare for me to write a hotel review but I received a bit of customer service so unusually excellent that I felt compelled to share.
I planned a last-minute trip with my dad to the Final Four in Indianapolis. By the time we started looking for rooms, everything downtown was completely booked. I spent the entire day before our arrival checking Hilton, Marriott, IHG, and third-party apps, hoping that two rooms would open up downtown.
Finally, the Hilton app showed two rooms available at the Hilton Garden Inn, but it would only allow me to book one at a time. After booking the first room, I kept getting error messages when trying to reserve the second. I called the hotel and spoke with Mindi, explaining the situation. After confirming the reservation I had already made, she told me the hotel was fully booked and nothing was likely to open up. I asked if she could take my number in case something opened up, though I wasn’t very hopeful.
The next morning, at 7:30 a.m. while I was on my way to the airport, I received a call from Mindi (from home on her personal cell phone!) to let me know that something had opened up. She had already reserved the second room for me and was just calling to confirm I still wanted it. Keep in mind, I have minimal Hilton status and no prior relationship with this property. Mindi simply went out of her way, during what was surely one of their busiest weekends of the year, to help a guest.
Additional kudos to Jaden at the front desk, who was exceptionally friendly.
The hotel itself was clean and comfortable and in an easy walk to everything downtown.
I travel to Indianapolis somewhat frequently and have always generally stayed at Le Meridien or the Westin. Going forward, I will make a point to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn whenever I’m in town because I know that they have a staff that will always go out of its way for the customer. That’s how memorable the service was.
You can’t beat the location and the customer service at this hotel. The accommodations are top notch and if you’re going to any event at Lucas oil Stadium, it’s a short wonderful walk.
Loved the location & amenities. We had a 2 queen room with a sitting area & sofabed. Lots of storage!
We initially self parked across the street. We don’t prefer valet. I used the spot hero app to find different parking for cheaper, & moved our car the next day. We paid $25/day on an event weekend vs $43 for valet. We parked in the Sales Force parking garage that is literally attached to the Hilton Garden Inn hotel. You can access it on the 3rd floor straight into the hotel with your keycard. Look for the small set of stairs on the 3rd floor with the Hilton Garden Inn sign. The front desk didn’t mention this option at all, they just said the best option was valet or the express park across the street. It was SO much easier to not have to walk outside with all our luggage. You do have to park on 4th floor or higher, but they have an elevator.
It was an amazing stay overall!
Volleyball Tournament. Great hospitality.
Mindi was amazing as well as the front desk staff. Mindi has amazing hospitality and took care of me and my friends. The rooms were clean and stocked. Overall an amazing experience!!
Mindi’s customer assistance was excellent and she took amazing care of my friends and I. We will definitely be coming back when we visit Indianapolis again!
I had the best time in this hotel with friends! This was by far one of my favorite hotels I’ve stayed at. Rooms were excellent and very clean! Everyone was also so welcoming and friendly and made the stay even better! Specifically, Mindi was amazing! Her hospitality was over the top!
We have had a phenomenal experience here and I’ll be coming back when in Indy. The team has been more than hospitable! Both Mindy and Jossee had been absolutely incredible. Responsiveness, hospitality and phenomenal service are the themes that define this trip! Please recognize them for a job well done as this isn’t the standard everywhere! Kudos
Where do I even begin with this place. Some of the employees here are straight up thieves, and management clearly doesn’t care. Personal items went missing out of my room, and when I reported it to the front desk, Mindy was unbelievably rude, nasty, and completely dismissive. Instead of taking the issue seriously, she talked down to me in a condescending tone and acted like my concerns didn’t matter after I clearly explained that the items were left in my room.
To make matters worse, the hotel is now refusing to take responsibility or compensate for the missing property. That tells me everything I need to know about how this place is run.
Let’s also talk about the conditions of the hotel itself. The air conditioning doesn’t even work. When you turn the air on, it blows straight heat, making the room uncomfortable and almost unbearable. For a hotel that carries the Hilton name, this is honestly embarrassing.
I wouldn’t even let my dog stay in this hotel. The lack of professionalism, accountability, and basic comfort is ridiculous.
What makes this even more concerning is that another coworker also reported items missing, so clearly this is not an isolated situation. My company spends a lot of money with Hilton, and it’s extremely disappointing to see a property represent the brand this poorly.
Do yourself a favor: save your money and book somewhere else.
Our company frequently books Hilton properties for business travel, and this experience raises serious concerns about continuing to do so.
A formal complaint has already been submitted to Hilton Corporate regarding this matter. I am hoping they will investigate this property and address the missing items and staff conduct.
everything was awesome!!
no free breakfast… kind of bummed about that
Bedding had stains all over it and temp in room would not go below 75⁰. Unbelievably warm in the room and could not sleep.
The hvac, stains on bedding
I had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Garden Inn Downtown Indianapolis and it was an excellent place to stay. The front desk receptionist Jossie made my stay a wonderful experience as she was pleasant, warm and professional. I am impressed with the level of service and the follow through shown here. Great management, staff, and location. Well worth staying here every time I travel to Indianapolis.
They made our stay so wonderful everyone was so nice and respectful and they really made me and my husband enjoy our mini getaway we just needed a reset and time alone from our children and we got that plus so much more this has become our number 1 staycation spot thanks to Davis and Josie.
Hotel is well-located in downtown and was perfect for our weekend getaway. We did experience an issue with the room getting too hot, but the team quickly resolved the issue and we had no further problems. Such a relief not to have to move rooms.
Shout out to Deangela for ensuring our room was spotless. Keep up the great work! 🙂
We stayed for my daughter’s 14th birthday. We were able to check in early with Ms. Lily and Ms. Mandi who were over the moon to help us get settled in for our fun evening. They talked us through all of the details without a hit hitch and once they found out if was a party they upgraded my daughters room to a suite to accommodate all of her friends. They made her a birthday bag padded with goodies and Knick knacks and even added more decorations to the room after we had set up for my daughter to walk in and be even more in awe then just the stunning room. I would rate them 100/100 if I could. They didn’t miss a beat. The swimming pool was clean and warm and we had the whole pool mostly to ourselves. Clean room and very friendly staff. I would recommend everyone stay here at least once. Even if you from the city.
You guys did amazing work.
Thank you!!!
Overall great stay, only a couple blocks and an easy walk to the Pacers stadium. Parking is a little tricky so opted for valet parking for additional charge but was worth it, especially during the cold temperatures. Only complaint was that the thermostat in the room was faulty and temperature didn’t change to where we set it to and the phone in the room didn’t work so had to use to the hotels mobile app to contact front desk for any needs. However, at the front desk, DAVIS C. was incredibly helpful and accommodating for us. He was so polite and respectful, definitely a wonderful employee! Always grateful for pleasant interactions as we had with him. Rooms were clean and beds were comfortable.
