Beautiful place and the resort is amazing!
Good location, great price, cool rooms and really kind service.
Will definitely go back.
Peaceful setting, friendly , loved the holiday decor, relaxing restaurant atmosphere. Being an animal parent i like how dog friendly they are even have a stick station at there pet building!
We stayed at the Mt. Hood resort for 4 nights with our two small children and mini schnauzer. Fall at Mt. Hood is beautiful. The location was perfect. It was only a few minutes from Welches where there is a nice grocery store and a variety of restaurants. There are 2 restaurants on the resort property as well which are in walking distance. Unfortunately, we found that out by walking to Mallards for dinner after our Jeep broke down. The food hit the spot, the music was nice and the service was great!
The room was a bit outdated, but we chalked it up to the rustic charm of the forest. We had a squeaky door and the dog area had some dog poop that was not picked up by the precious guests. Once we brought that to the hotels attention, they fixed the door and cleaned the dog area.
When our car broke down, we were stranded in the rain in Sandy with the kids and dog and called the hotel for options to get back to the resort. The concierge who answered the phone was unhelpful and told us to get a hotel in Sandy, despite having already had been there for 2 days, all of our belongings were at the hotel and we didn't have a way to get to another hotel either. She also declined assisting us with taxi recommendations as Uber and Lyft did not have cars there. She said there was a shuttle, but that it would not pick us up, we had to walk miles across town to get there in the next 30 minutes. We were extremely disappointed in the customer service.
After a couple hours of waiting and some sheer luck, an Uber driver from Portland accepted the ride and drove us back to the resort.
We expressed our grievances to the hotel after the stay and the manager Christopher was kind, communicative and supportive. He rectified our negative experience with a discount and offered a discount on a future stay to make up for the shortcomings. Our vacation could use a redo and we look forward to staying at the Mt. Hood Oregon Resort again.
We will not be staying here again. We booked this place because of the pool and being near Mt. Hood. The kids were looking forward to swimming a lot every day. We were told before booking the pool was 90°. It definitely was not. The pool was too cold to swim more than a few minutes in. When we talked to the staff about it, we were told just to swim in the hot tub instead.
Our car broke down in Sandy and needed to be towed. We called the front desk as we were stranded on Hwy 26 with two small children and a small dog. I could not find any taxis, Uber and Lyft did not have drivers, and I didn't have any way to get anywhere. The front desk said there is a shuttle, but that the shuttle would not come get us, we had to go to it. If I could have gotten to the shuttle, I would have been able to get to the hotel.... Again, stranded. Then the hotel staff suggested I stay at the Best Western in Sandy.... I've paid to stay at your hotel and am your guest. Could someone come get us or could you arrange a taxi? No.
We had already checked in and stayed at the hotel for 2 days and had 2 more days in our stay when we were told to go to another hotel instead of offered a shuttle service or even a phone number to a taxi. All of our belongings were in our room and our room was paid for.
Great customer service.... Finally after 3 hours an Uber driver accepted the request and came from Portland to take us back to the hotel.
The room was dirty, old and outdated. The lawn outback was covered in dog poo. The TV didn't work and door was squeaky. We got maid service the first day but not the second. They did fix the squeaky door and TV.upon request.
Great room with a fireplace , spacious! No elevator for the 2nd floor. GPS took us to the golf course. We had to call the front desk to find out where we had to go.
The facility was excellent.
Everything was great -- clean, beautiful woodsy grounds. My only complaint is that there was no remote for the tv in the room. It took about an hour for a staff person to come with a replacement, and then that one did not work. The staff offered a differrent room, which I took, a lovely upgrade. While I appreciate that, it also meant gathering up all my belongings and moving, Also it seems the venue was understaffed, with only one person attending to such matters . That being said, the person who helped me was very friendly, took my complaint seriously, and followed thru with the upgraded room.
Hotel was good but No breakfast was a bad experience. They just gave a credit of $8 for breakfast that is like peanuts for the amt you pay for stay.
They should have free breakfast like other hotels. It was not mentioned before otherwise i would have not stayed here
The only thing I would have wanted was the water to be a little hotter. As it was my husband had to heat water on the stove to make my tepid bath more comfortable. It was too late at night to call the service people cuz I’m sure they could have helped us out.
The room itself was clean and comfortable. The property was not so nice on the exterior but didn't really affect our stay. There are limited options in prineville for stay and this is definitely the best option.
Sprawling property in the Mount Hood area (about 25min down the mountain from Timberline lodge). Fairly low elevation here (about 1300ft). There is one main building that houses the restaurant and a bunch of smaller buildings with the rooms. These have outdoor entrances and their own parking areas. There is a pool and hot tub in the middle of all the buildings which was very nice. Property was rather empty while we were there and on-site restaurant seemed understaffed. There are also tennis courts in the area and a golf course nearby. Room was well-sized and had a nice large closet by the door that was great for storing outdoor gear or for hanging things to dry. Enjoyed our visit to the area.
This is simply one of the best places to stay for you golf trip getaway or other vacations. Come and stay, play the course, eat the the two restaurants. The staff is the best on the mountain for service and made me feel so welcome.
We didn't spend much time at the hotel, pretty much in late and out fairly early. Hotel Customer service was very good. Extra Kudos to Laura in the restaurant for breakfast. She was very friendly and gave us some spots to check out on our journey.
A state park motel that had some upgrades. Nice but average
The spa is amazing with the best service, the therapists are 🤌🤌 I recommend anyone and everyone to go✨✨ I will be back!!
Our room was clean and spacious, we did some laundry and had to hold the button to keep the dryer going. Needs work, already had some electrical tape across the button. Had to get towels from the desk to swim and was told to return them to the desk when done. That was a first.
Very noisy AC, can't sleep with it on. Opened windows instead but we overlooked the pool and people were in there late (timings not enforced?). Otherwise, room quite large, comfy bed. Pretty soulless resort but not much around this area and handy for Mount Hood. Nice golf course.
Nice place to stay near Mount Hood, spacious clean room. We didn’t get dinner as we arrived a bit late and the cafe and pub gave us menus while we waited but an hour later nobody seated us so we just left. Happy to have such a convenient spot to do laundry but the dryer button was broken and we had to stand and hold it in to get out clothes to dry. Overall a good spot and we would stay again
For the price we paid I expected a lot better. The front desk staff was not very enthusiastic at check-in, and the property is very tired. Their gift shop/store has a minimal selection, no food or beer. We booked a double queen room for 3 adults but only had two towels in the room. When we went back to reception there was no apology for not having provided enough towels. In addition, the WiFi in the room never worked and the pool was dirty. This is not a property I would recommend.
The facility reminded me of a state park. It was a perfect setting for being in the mountains. We really enjoyed the pool and spa. All areas of the grounds were clean. The front desk workers were very helpful.
