Sleep Inn Lake Wright - Norfolk Airport

This hotel had decent reviews, but I do not know how. The location around the hotel offers many conveniences. We stayed to shorten our drive home after attending a fun day at the amusement park nearby. We went to the outlets right by the hotel, which are great. We were in a room on the first floor. It was dirty. There was an unpleasant smell in the room and throughout the hallways. Marks, stains, and what looked to be like growing mold was on the walls. The free breakfast was a perk, but there was what looked to be a roach scurrying around the countertop area near the food. Not to mention the attendant working the breakfast area was fussing at guests about putting the serving utensils back onto the plate and not leaving it in the buffet dish.

The breakfast was nice. The biscuits were really good. Didn't like the coffee. The staff wasn't all that friendly. My room was very nasty! It smelled awful! The bathroom was really dirty! The walls were dirty and there wsx urine on the bathroom door! I had to go buy disinfectant wipes and deodarizer spray to clean the room. I was also disappointed that the pool was closed on Monday.

Great stay

Staff was great. I was put in a room that was not pictured. I took pics, but not going there. I was in a room that was remodeled the time before last. Old bedding (not the tree design in new pics), holes in the leather skirt bed surround, hole in carpet and spots of dried mortar that wouldn't come up when i borrowed a vacuum on my 2nd day. Then the shower door hinge looks like they changed the door but the old door holes still there in completely different area. Also looked like a tape or putty was put over a almost 2inch hole. Pool was cloudy. Was a few more things that was off.

Everything was good and I’ll stay there my trip to Virginia in December

It smelled musty. I booked a first floor as I have a broken leg. I was informed that they did not have any other rooms on that floor. I had to use essential oils to make it smell bare able . Hotel needs some serious updating ! It was gross. The carpet was sticky so you had to wear socks. Bathroom door looked like someone threw up on it. Heat/ac was broken. Shuttle is useless if you have an early flight. Didn’t run until 10. Breakfast was a joke. Clearly this is used as section 8 housing as well. People coming in with cribs, full groceries. Literally full carts of stuff. Not an enjoyable stay.

Work related

It was frustrating because the building holds two hotels. When I went in to confirm the address the front desk was unsure. I had to return a second time and give my reservation for them to recognize I was at the correct location. The A/C unit on cold made it to where me and wife couldn’t breathe out of our nose at night. We had to utilize it on fan. The comforter also had an old red stain.

Hotel location is very convenient. They assigned us a room that was infested with mold which can lead to cancer or other health issues. They did move us to another room, but that original room should not have been available until it was remediated.

Nice pool! Decent breakfast items… a lot for the money.

The staff was nice although I don’t think their English was that great. Check in was great. I was 1/2 hour early they were accommodating and I only waited 5 mins.

When I walked in there was very loud smell of gas and I told the lady at the front desk she looked at me like I had two heads. The smell was there all night and the next morning.

I went to the bathroom in the lobby and there was two holes in the ladies room ceiling.

Besides everything was good

Comfortable for price. It does need a paint job. Doors and walls are dirty.

The Gym needs improvement and the pool needs a new coat of paint and every night treat the pool. Everything else was very good.

Carpet is very old needs to be clean. Left a bad odor in the room use two cans of air freshener.
