Pros:

Super Location. In the Center. Parking was a bit complicated to find but no problem ;) Check - In and Check - Out are very easy and quick. Staff is very friendly. Hotel is very new and modern. Room is very clean and shiny ;)))

Avoid the restuarant on a Wednesday!!
Pros:

We were booked into the hotel as part of our group, who were visiting Stalag VIIIB Lamsdorf. We arrived at the hotel about 4.30pm, and were given a room on the second floor. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and had a lovely large shower with complimentary toiletries and lots of hotel water. The breakfast on the Thursday morning was adequate, but with a very restricted choice and no tea. Unfortunately, that is all I have to say that is positive.

Cons:

We came downstairs for dinner at 7.30pm. A few of our group went out into Opole to eat at an Italian restaurant. 7 of us - our party of 4 and two parties of 2 - decided to dine in the hotel restaurant. There were only 3 people in their besides ourselves - one lady when we arrived, and two gentlemen who arrived after us. We ordered our meal at 8pm - 3 x burgers and chips and 1 x pasta. My husbands pasta arrived about 20 minutes later. Then two burgers arrived for the two gentlemen who had come in after us. 25 minutes after ordering our food and drinks, the drinks arrived, along with my burger. We asked about the other two burgers - it was now 8.40pm. We were told that there was only one trainee college student cooking in the kitchen!!! The man in charge of the restaurant by this time was getting very stressed and angry, so much so that he was clearly and audibly losing his temper with the young waitress, who was having to deal with the questions and complaints of all of the people waiting for drinks and food. The last two burgers on our order arrived at 8.55pm. We had ordered two pints of beer and two cokes. I had to go up and ask for the second beer, as the barman/manager had forgotten it, and was dealing with two irate customers who he had overcharged. Although the food was good, we would not expect to be told that a hotel of that size did "not expect so many customers on a Wednesday night"!! We then took our drinks into the Reception area to meet others from our group. My husband wanted to change some euro into zloty. He was told that Reception could not do this, and that he had to go to the Casino to do it, which he did. He was then told that he had to join the Casino and give them his details, in order to change his money. He obviously refused to do this. Breakfast the following morning was also a disappointment. All in all, I think that this branch of the Mercure chain need to have a serious look at their staff.
