Important information:

From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted. Effective 1 June 2014, the Penang State Government will be imposing a local government fee of MYR 3 per room per night, payable directly to the hotel upon check in.

- The name on the credit card used for the booking should correspond to the guest staying at the property. For reservations made by a third party, you will need to complete an authorization form and present a copy of the person's ID and credit card.

Overall, it was a very pleasant stay!
Pros:

We really appreciated that the hotel has preserved its traditional cultural style. The environment is clean and well maintained, and the beds are very comfortable. The sea view from the balcony is simply exciting and refreshing. especially Mr. Nicholas, who left a very positive impression on us. The breakfast offers a wide and plentiful variety of choices, making this a truly wonderful place to stay for a relaxing holiday. The front desk service was excellent,

Overall, it was a very pleasant stay! ✨

However, the service from the staff at the Western restaurant downstairs could still be improved.

Lovely stay here, interior was 10/10 and views were stunning

Old-fashioned hotel steeped in history
Pros:

The history, architecture, interior design, George Town central location by the sea and several food options are all wonderful.

Cons:

Suite 335 was very noisy with the constant elevator noise coming through the air vents. Bathroom doors not closing properly. Terrible, cramped and relocated gym due to renovations. No spa anymore. Confusing access to Cornwallis lounge. Too many plastic water bottles! Please switch to glass or install filters.

Absolutely Superb!
Pros:

Absolute luxury! Such an incredible hotel, so elegant, with everything and more that you would want for such a top class hotel. Staff were very accommodating and breakfast was absolutely top notch - including the English afternoon tea! Our room overlooked the sea and was incredibly large and very well equipped.
Overall a superb stay!
