Important information:

From 1st January 2023, a tourist tax of RM 10 per room per night is applied to all foreign guests. This tax is not included in the room rate and must be paid upon check-in. Guests with a valid Malaysian Identity Card or valid permanent residents MY PR Card are exempted. Effective 1 June 2014, the Penang State Government will be imposing a local government fee of MYR 3 per room per night, payable directly to the hotel upon check in.

Pros:

英国風のホテル感が良い

Cons:

オールドタウンに行くにはタクシーを使う必要がある。歩ける距離でも車が多いし車道が歩行を邪魔してる。

Old style luxury in George Town
Cons:

The Eastern & Oriental Hotel is the best hotel we have stayed in and we hope to return. We stayed in the Heritage Wing so had the extras that come with that, the drinks and canapes at 6pm, use of the pool, free mini bar and a bottle of wine in room etc.
The pool area is small but we were lucky to get a sun lounger when we did.
The hotel is beautifully decorated. The bed was large and very comfy. The suite we had looked over the water and was very comfy.
We enjoyed some cocktails in the Farquhar's bar. Breakfast was included which was a little limited for vegans but we were able to ask for oat milk.
We checked out the Victory wing on our last morning and thought the pool area was really nice and some of the higher room would have a lovely view and would consider staying in that part as well.
The members of staff were polite and helpful.
We didn't use the restaurants on site but ventured out and had some great vegan food. George Town is a very foodie place.

Fabulous relaxing stay in a great location.
Pros:

Great location and though we were in the new wing, it felt like we were living in a bit of history. Lovely sea view and good sized rooms. Fabulous breakfast taken on the terrace overlooking the Malacca Straits. Staff are friendly and welcoming, Fiqa in the bar and the team there served excellent gin and tonics.

Great hotel by the sea
Pros:

Fantastic hotel. So beautiful. Centrally located but not in the midst of the busy area. Very quiet. Being right by the sea was great. The studio suite was great - lovely view, huge bathroom, very comfortable. Air con worked well, staff were helpful - gave us softer pillows when requested and in general friendly. Pool area is nice. Breakfast in both areas was good in different ways.

Cons:

The room that we were given initially only had side sea view which I felt shouldn’t be the same price as the full sea view room we booked. I am glad that hotel changed the room to proper sea view. People “reserve” sun loungers for hours and staff do nothing about it even when other guests are there. I felt that drinks by the pool were very expensive.

Cons:

에어컨이 오래되어서 그런지 약간의 냄새가 있었습니다. 수압이 약해서 샤워시 좀 불편했습니다.

Amazing hotel
Pros:

Everything about this hotel is fabulous. There is so much history attached to the hotel. It was like being transformed back in time. The staff are all helpful and polite. Excellent food in all the restaurants. Beautiful, clean, and comfortable rooms. I can't find anything negative to say about this hotel. 100% recommend a stay here when visiting Penang.

A Rare Find

Very good hotel.
Pros:

Excellent suite overlooking the sea. Big room, very comfortable and balcony. Great choice at breakfast and 2 locations available.
Great service by the guys around the pool!

Cons:

Bar prices are very high, much cheaper options close by.
