5 star price, mediocre experience. Wouldn't recommend, wouldn't stay again.
Pros:

Room was quite nice, bed was comfy. Large bathroom, separate sinks. Good egg station at breakfast.

Cons:

We were overwhelmingly disappointed with this hotel and the experience we had whilst staying here. The staff were incredibly unhelpful, unwelcoming, and at times, rude. For a supposedly 5 star hotel, there was an appalling service level in comparison with other 5 stars. We booked this hotel as part of our honeymoon, so we can absolutely assure all those looking to book here that you will not receive a 5 star experience if you stay here.
There are 2 entrances to this hotel, it is not made clear when booking, however one entrance is around the back of the building which feels a bit odd - the whole hotel is disjointed and not well planned at all. It also makes it more difficult to leave/ enter the building as you end up needing to walk around the whole building to get to the main road.
The other extremely disappointing element is that the room we booked promised us "exclusive use" of the Victory Annex pool. We absolutely did not have "exclusive use" of the extremely busy pool. It was so busy that there were no sunbeds available for us to use when we did attempt to use the facilities. The pool is quite small, right next to an ongoing building site and so is loud and smelly. Honestly, it was unbelievably disappointing.

Cons:

The only thing I did not like was that porters were not available to take my luggage. When I arrived, we had to bring our luggage to the reception and the receptionist himself brought them up to our room

It made wish I was born in the 1880’s and was here when it first opened would have been awesome to experience it then
Pros:

The large hall ways to head to the rooms, the old world feel was there and it made you feel like you were back in the 1800’s. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The breakfast was wonderful as well.

Pros:

This is an outstanding heritage hotel with a rich sense of history and charm. We stayed in the Victory Annexe, and the king-sized room was excellent, offering a lovely sea view. The room was spacious, clean, and tastefully styled with a retro feel.

The location is very convenient, just a short distance from Georgetown, making it easy to explore the area. I also particularly enjoyed Farquhar’s Bar — a great spot within the hotel to unwind.

Stylish and sophisticated, but didn’t quite deliver the seamless luxury I expected.
Pros:

My top three favourite aspects of the stay were the beautiful seaside view, the in-room bathtub, and the included breakfast. The turn-down service was a thoughtful touch, and the breakfast staff were especially attentive and welcoming.

I also appreciated the in-room amenities, including the toiletries, housecoat, slippers, and complimentary coffee and tea, which added to the overall comfort of the stay.

Cons:

During my stay, the fitness centre and spa were under renovation and therefore not accessible. There was also noticeable drilling noise during the day as a result. Additionally, a wedding or special event took place, and the music was quite loud in the morning, which impacted the overall sense of quiet.

I also found that the pool shown in the photos differed from the one available to guests in my section (Heritage side vs. Victory Annex), which was a bit misleading. The bathtub setup did not match the photos either, as a tray was not provided—even after requesting one.

Overall, while certain areas of the property feel very elegant and well-designed, other aspects felt inconsistent with that standard.
