Excellent!
Pros:

Breakfast was good.... Staff exceptionally nice and happy to help! Very clean property for a quiet relaxing experience. This is our second time in the past 9 months enjoying this hotel.

Cons:

Bed was a double and we knew that but would have loved a queen size rather than 2 beds in the room.

Very Nice Local Hotel
Pros:

My partner discovered his passport was expired two days before we were headed to Puerto Vallarta so I made a solo trip since it was too late for a refund on the hotel. I prefer to stay in Mexican hotels rather than big resorts. This was very clean and basic. I had a lovely room with a deck facing the ocean. There are large water jugs on each floor and a pitcher in the room to fill and keep in the refrigerator. A free breakfast is included and it offered a buffet of scrambled eggs, beans, chilaquiles, toast, yogurt, fruit, juice and coffee. The hotel is just past the malecon but it’s a quick walk. There are restaurants and bars close, a supermercado with ATM a block away, a wine bar next door and the BEST massage place next door. My only disappointment was that the beach in front was rocky rather than sandy. However the palapa style bar restaurant on the beach next door has a sandy front so if you’re willing to spent a certain amount (I think $500 pesos), you can park yourself on one of their comfortable loungers and perhaps be able to swim in the ocean from there. It was red flags when I was there so I couldn’t. When the cartel attack happened last Sunday, the staff of the hotel were so professional and efficient in protecting and managing the guests of the hotel. At one point we had to evacuate to the beach because of a close fire. Then they moved us up to the pool area. The hotel was on lockdown from that point with the entrance gate locked. Luckily the danger was short-lived and we were soon able to get out again and enjoy the beautiful town Puerto Vallarta.

Very pleasant stay in a ‘Grand Dame’ old hotel.
Pros:

Location was excellent, right on Playa Camarones and adjacent to the Malecon or ‘main drag’. The hotel in general had a light airy feel. So did our room. Beds comfortable. Loved the swimming pool. Breakfasts were good and varied, although we would have appreciated the fruit juice not being watered down. Good value for money, especially on weeknights.
