Pros:

The room was clean

Cons:

When we got there, we were told that the on site parking garage was full and directed to a public garage two blocks away. The neighborhood was very sketchy, with a lot of homeless people who were clearly on drugs. The bed was very uncomfortable and the room was tiny.

Difficult to get in and out. Parking is terrible

The inside is very charming. Downtown with old world charm. It has recently been updated and well kept. Bed was comfortable

Cons:

The parking!!! They don’t explain that even when you pay for secure parking, it might be off sight and you have to walk from the underground garage in downtown San Francisco. There was a homeless man laying right in front of the hotel as you walk in. The staff that checked me in, seemed bothered to answer my questions. I also requested a room with a bathtub over 2-3 months ago. They did not give deliver on that request. I find it hard to believe that they could not plan better given several months notice. Also I don’t mean anything bad towards the cleaning staff. They were very kind but There are 2 small elevators and during the day they use the back one(right next to my room) to go up and down to turn around rooms. It took 3 times before I could get on it. There is also only 5 floors. I just will not be returning to stay there mainly because of the front desk

Amazing property in wonderful location
Pros:

I have stayed in countless Courtyards over the last 20 years of travel and this location is by far the nicest. Great location near civic center yet minutes from everything in all directions. Wonderful design ethic throughout. Beautiful intimate warm lobby with lots of seating and work options. Rich color palette tying together public space and guest rooms. The gym design is amazing and a huge improvement over any mid market hotel I’ve ever experienced. Industrial, metal vide with wood and beautiful overhead lighting. Free weights, multipurpose machine and variety of aerobic options.
Parking is available and mid priced for SF. I’m already looking forward to returning.

Loved it, would come again.
Pros:

The area was very nice, with lots of public transportation around. At check-in, the staff were very nice and apologetic for the wait as there were a few people in front of me. The room was very nice and clean, as well as cold.

Cons:

I believe, there were only 2 elevators to go up to the rooms. The only downside really was that the bathrooms and the gym were downstairs.

Decent hotel not near anything.
Pros:

This is a decently restored hotel that probably is due for some refresh but not bad. I noted the paint on the bottom of the bathroom door was flaking off a bit. Shower was good but no grab rail and the shower floor tile a bit slippery. Good bed and room, and hotel very quiet considering it fronts on busy Van Ness Avenue. Problem is that there is really nothing of interest in this area, you have to either walk, which I did to Chinatown (quite a hike on the hills, took the bus back) or take an Uber/Lyft or bus. Back in the day, Van Ness was where the car dealership showrooms were actually in buildings, and there are a few still-Tesla,Toyota. Starbucks next to hotel not cozy, a lot of mobile orders delaying in-store orders, and no atmosphere. I would not return to this hotel because of the location.
