It was a good price and near where we were going.
The carpets were dirty, the ice machine didn’t work. There were dirty sheets laying in the stairwell.
So, I utilized the Park, Sleep, and Fly service. We stayed there one night and parked for a week. After we landed, I called our shuttle. It took 45 minutes for the shuttle to arrive. And when it did, the shuttle driver smelled like BO so bad you could hardly be in the vehicle. And he played loud music constantly. The shuttle then went to the other terminal to pick up people too. On the way, they dropped one passenger off at some random restaurant out of the way. And then they dropped passengers off at various hotels. Meanwhile, the shuttle says only one name on the side. Americinn. When we finally got close to the hotel, he stopped for fuel! It took like 10 minutes just to fill up. And then dropped us off at our car. 45 minutes to go 5 miles from the airport to the hotel. When we finally got there and I could pick up my car, I complained to the lady at the desk. She said that she would pass it along to the manager Om Shandilya. I insisted that he called me the next day. She handed me his card. He did not call. I tried calling his numbers and both are disconnected. Then I called the hotel to complain and dealt with some extremely rude people at the counter. Needless to say, there's no refund coming my way. Another bad hotel with bad service. We used to be a real country with pride in our work.
And instead of making it right, the manager just says, "oh, sorry, with happen again." Words mean nothing. Contact me and make this right.
Do NOT stay at the AmericInn Inver Grove Heights, MN, especially through ParkSleepFly! After our return flight, we called the number given to us for the airport shuttle to pick us up, and it did not work. We tried numerous times on numerous phones. We called the Wyndham number and told them the situation, and they tried calling and couldn't get through either so apparently they had phone issues...how convenient! After waiting over an hour in the heat thinking the shuttle would come and get us and not being able to reach the hotel, we had to call an Uber. Once at the hotel, the front desk said that they didn't have us on the pickup list!! They couldn't explain why. The manager of this hotel needs to be FIRED!! He emailed me once after I put in a formal complaint through Wyndham, and his email talked about how shuttle service can be disrupted due to traffic jams, etc. that had NOTHING to do with our experience because the shuttle never came! I responded to him by email and called the hotel daily for many many days leaving my number asking him to return my calls with nothing but ghosting from him! I have called Wyndham multiple times, and they said the property manager can only issue a refund. How can that happen when the manager doesn't respond to email or calls?? Please NEVER stay at this hotel because if you have an issue, you will get NOWHERE with this manager! I have read multiple other negative reviews. What's it gonna take to get this guy fired, Wyndham??? DO BETTER!!
It’s was available and convenient
It was dirty and the bed was hard.
Strange things are amiss at this hotel.
The Good: decently priced, immediate surroundings seemed safe. Has pool & hottub, breakfast has protein.
The Bad: carpet in rooms is dingy, bed sheets etc. are showing their age along with the rest of the hotel. the pictures posted by the hotel chain are from quite some time ago. the pool area surface is a pressed aggregate that at one time was sealed & smooth, but now it is coming apart & all the little stones are popping out so it feels like you are walking on pebbles as they are all over the place & painful. The pool itself is a good temperature & size, the hot tub is big but uses air bubbles, no jets. Hotel shuttle is not on site & comes from other places.
The Weird: The hotel serves as some kind of halfway house/long term care facility/ in patient residence, etc. It is very weird. there are several rooms that are dedicated to "residents" with varying levels of cognitive dissability & there is a steady stream of people lingering around. One staff member said they are long term care takers & do shift changes but that doesnt fit. I was here for about 10 days it is just bizarre. Way too many individuals lingering around for the story to fully check out. It seems like there is a large extended family that resides here. It was uncomfortable because the lobby was used like a living room for all of these folks who didnt speak english to each other. The lobby furniture is like a campus with couches that are well worn from constant lounging. The police made a visit one day & entered one of the "family" rooms as we began calling them. All in all, it wasnt necessarily an unsafe feeling, it was just bizarre & uncomfortable & shady, like something was being covered up/fraud.
Without the Weird circumstance, I would recommend this as a budget family friend place in a decent spot but with all the strange going on I would not make another family oriented visit.
Ok
Almost everything.
The TV screen was glitching
Severe Safety and Health Hazards – STAY AWAY
My family and I checked into this property and were forced to leave within less than one hour due to completely unsafe and uninhabitable conditions.
Upon arrival, a violent physical altercation broke out between two individuals in the main lobby area, requiring emergency police intervention. When we got to our room, the situation worsened: we discovered active pests (bugs) in the bed and heavily stained sheets.
We never unpacked and immediately returned to the front desk to cancel the entire 2-night stay. Despite leaving immediately due to severe health and safety violations, management processed the cancellation for the second night but wrongfully refused to refund the first night.
Charging guests for an unsafe, unsanitary room they couldn't spend a single night in is completely unacceptable. Wyndham corporate has been contacted to intervene, and a formal complaint is being filed with the Minnesota Department of Health. Avoid this property at all costs.
Breakfast was not exciting. Basic low budget breakfast.
There were several non guest (seen entering employee areas) laying and sleeping on sofas in lobby. sofas looked sagging and dirty like an old basement kids room. It felt unsafe seeing non guest individuals sleeping and lounging in lobby at 3 PM check in time and throughout the rest of the evening. Very dirty and place needs a huge upgrade. Shuttel was not located at hotel. Accessed shuttle from another hotel after waiting over an hour and delivered to our hotel. I will not come back after being a loyal customer for over 10 years.
Hot tub, pool and sauna ... resteraunts close
Breakfast was poor ... Many Strange people lying around the lobby every day (not hotel guests) ... bed was rock hard ... upkeep was very poor
It was by an outback
There was a clump of hair in the pool, pubic hair in the shower, dust flew up off of the bed when I smacked my hand onto it
Overall stay was very disappointing. The beds were very uncomfortable, the place wasn't very clean, the scrambled eggs at breakfast were watery.
Best part was location and close proximity to the State Fairgrounds.
We definitely won't be coming back to that location.
Location
Lobby furniture was horrible. People were sleeping on sofas. Even though we reserved the 3 pm shuttle, the clerk had to call someone and it was 15 min late
Pur second room was clean and comfortable.
Our first room was not clean- it had old food and bottle caps laying around- the window did not not lock and the screen was partially pulled out.
The staff came up right away to check out the room and switched was to a new room - which was fine. They had a very quick response and switched us to another room quickly.
Good location
Nothing
