First, the photo online looks nowhere like this property actually looks now. (They claim they renovated). After waiting ~four (4) hours, they said there were no rooms available due to technical problems.
They (said they) booked us into VACATION VILLAGE hotel but when we arrive there (transported by a surly driver with a Caribbean accent) the mentioned hotel had never even heard of us. I had to get on the phone and have a matter-of-fact conversation with the front desk at TOWNPLACE.
I didn't like the appearance of the hotel and customer service and being customer-focused was foreign attributes.
I will never book again and encourage my acquaintances the same.

I try to be understanding when travel issues happen, but this stay involved repeated miscommunication, poor coordination, and unnecessary inconvenience from start to finish.
When I arrived for check-in at 3pm, I was told the hotel had water damage and was overbooked, so I would be relocated to another hotel 9 miles away. I understand emergencies happen, but it would have been courteous to notify guests before arrival instead of after we show up with luggage.
(Imagine if I had to take a taxi or Uber for all this!)
Because I was picking up a friend from the airport the next day who also had a reservation at this hotel, I specifically asked the front desk to relocate him as well. Since I was his transportation and they were going to leave him at their hotel but not me.
I was assured they would handle both reservations and that everything would be covered since my stay had already been prepaid through a third-party app.
Unfortunately, when I arrived at the new hotel:
• My room was only held for one night and not paid for
• My friend’s room wasn’t reserved at all
It took multiple calls — several of which were disconnected — before they finally covered my two nights. No one ever called back despite saying they would.
I even drove back to the original hotel to sort this out in person because the phone support wasn’t working. After a shift change, I had to re-explain everything to new staff who had to “look into it” all over again.
Eventually they offered to upgrade my friend to a two-bedroom suite so we could stay together. While that sounds nice, there was no compensation for my disrupted, prepaid stay — my reservation was simply absorbed into his “upgrade.” In reality, it meant packing up, checking out by noon, and being without a room for several hours until he arrived that evening.
Check-in at the second hotel wasn’t smooth either. At 3pm, I was told the room wasn’t ready but they would call me as soon as it was cleaned. I left my number and said I’d wait in the car, literally 10 steps from the entrance. After waiting an hour with no call, I went back inside and was told the room had been ready shortly after I left. They claimed I gave them the wrong number — we verified it together and it was correct with the area code. Even knowing I was just outside, no one attempted to come get me.
Had I been relying on an Uber or taxi instead of my own vehicle, this would have meant either paying to sit and wait or being stranded entirely. That lack of basic follow-through could have created an even bigger problem.
When we finally got into the “upgraded” suite about 30 minutes before leaving to pick up my friend, we discovered it only had one bathroom. For four adults, that’s not really an upgrade — it’s a compromise.
Throughout the process, every step required repeated calls, in-person visits, or follow-ups just to get basic arrangements handled. The biggest issue wasn’t the water damage — things happen. The issue was the lack of communication, ownership, and coordination.
Much of the original coordination was handled by Nalini Dube, Director of Sales, and unfortunately the early reservation mistakes seemed to snowball from there.
Even the hotel I was sent to for.the first night commented on their poor communication.
Guests shouldn’t have to spend hours chasing down reservations or wondering whether they’ll even have a place to sleep. I hope management improves communication and accountability so future guests don’t have a similar experience.
Honestly, I’ve had smoother, less stressful stays at roadside budget hotels like a Comfort Inn. That shouldn’t be the case here.
I wouldn’t stay again.
You get what you pay for. Horrible water pressure. Probably has a water restriction implant. Fitness center has nearly nothing. No amenities.
For a family though, they do have some two bedroom suites.
The location is excellent. Right in the center of Weston!
The sofa bed advertised did not have a mattress
The rooms were fine. Absolutely no housekeeping at all during the four day stay despite requesting three times with the female manager on reception.
Filthy lift, filthy corridor ( third level) soiled napkins and tissues apparent after three days on floor.
Covid signs , years out of date still in lifts, reception and corridor, overflowing rubbish bins at main door of reception
Bueno
The shower was not properly cleaned.
I recently stayed at this Marriott property while my husband was undergoing a medical procedure at a nearby clinic, and I am truly grateful for our experience. We were able to use our rate, and because of the nature of his treatment, our stay ended up being longer than expected. Throughout it all, the staff went above and beyond for us.
Every time we needed anything, no matter how small, someone was there to assist with kindness and patience. Their professionalism, care, and willingness to accommodate us during a stressful time made a world of difference. The room was comfortable, the property was clean and welcoming, and we genuinely felt supported during our extended stay.
Thank you to the entire team for making a difficult period a little easier. We truly appreciate you.
We always appreciate the TownePlace rooms as the kitchen is perfect!
Loved the location. Walking distance to a beautiful area. Staff super friendly, room super clean. Home away from home. We were so comfortable. Also stayed with my 1.5 yr old and she was even content!
First time together with my extended family. The atmosphere was relaxing and the hotel was more that accommodating. The location and the area was relaxing. I found the hotel staff to be very accommodating. I would revisit this site and would encourage other family members to come along.
I am boarding on 70 nights this year with Marriott hotels; it’s been a busy year of traveling. Of all my experiences with front desk and hotel staff, non compete with Jonathan’s attention to detail and exceptional customer service. His level of professionalism is truly admirable.
I’ve stayed at hundreds of Marriott properties over the years, and this was by far the worst service experience I have ever experienced. In short, avoid this property.
The problems began even before my arrival. The day prior, the Director of Sales, Nalini Dube, contacted me and asked me to cancel my reservation in exchange for 5k points because the hotel was oversold. I had booked two rooms 6 weeks in advance, so being asked to cancel rather than the hotel honoring the reservation was extremely frustrating and unprofessional.
On the day of arrival, I arrived at 1 PM to check in and confirm both rooms in person. Kayra assured me that I still had both rooms and that I would receive a call once they were ready. That call never came. When I called at 5 PM to check the status, I was hung up on by Cassandra.
When I finally checked in at 11 PM, I was told that only one room was available for my group of four. The front desk associate was polite, but it was clear he had no authority to fix the situation. Adding to the frustration, my room rate had been changed without explanation from $162 to $272.
Two days later I received an email from the Director of Sales, Nalini Dube, offering a pathetic, 8k points in consolation, with no mention of the rate change. Note, a Saturday night stay at their location is 48k points.
I also received an email from the General Manager, Rashel Davy, apologizing for any inconvenience and saying she hoped I would stay with them again. However, there was no offer of compensation, and when I replied to her message, I received no response at all.
I opened a case with Marriott corporate on the night of the incident because the level of service and communication I experienced was unacceptable. I’ve never encountered such disorganization and lack of accountability at any Marriott property.
Over 2 weeks later and the best Marriott Corporate has done is to have the rate lowered to the original one.
I sincerely hope Marriott corporate and property management team make significant improvements.
I would recommend TownePlace Suites by Marriot Fort Lauderdale Weston to all of my
friends.
