Perfectly balanced stay in old town near the Edinburgh Castle

Fab location fab breakfast
Pros:

Checked in to find air con heating not working they brought us an electric heater. Didn’t attempt to fix the air con during our 4 nights stay. Bed bugs First night did not sleep. Had to strip my bed & open windows. It did improve. No hand towel rail in bathroom it’s needed near the sink. Not enough drawer storage. Sister hotel few mins away had pool & sauna pack your swim gear. Water fountain on 4th & /2nd floor. No slippers or robe. Breakfast to order was amazing especially smoked salmon. Location was just fab right in grass-market. Castle, victory’s street & royal mile all within a few minutes walking. Bit pricey for what we got.

Wonderful stay
Pros:

The staff was lovely and helpful. Big kudos to all of them! The location could not be better, even with the stairs and hills it’s an easy walk to the main attractions. The rooms are beautiful beyond what I expected.

Not the best, not the worst
Pros:

I was checked into a room at the far end. I could hear folks through the walls when they're chatting or using the toilet. The room itself had a sour tinge to it. The shower pressure was also very weak, even at the strongest setting (and strangely pulsate). Other than those gripes, the bedding was clean and the breakfast at the hotel was excellent.

Pros:

It was pretty clean and staff was nice!

Cons:

The room had a window that faced a wall, we asked to change it and they moved us to a room that has a garbage and parking lot view. The picture on booking.com had a castle view.
