Recent stay
Pros:

Distance to the convention centre was great for the dance competition being held there that we were over for.
Room size was good.
Staff on the front desk were great and really polite and helpful; other staff interaction was variable.

Cons:

We had to make up our sofa bed when we arrived.
There was really poor breakfast choice (bacon and scrambled eggs were good though) - lots of very sweet options which doesnt cater for guests from Europe in particular.
Limited black tea options and absolutely none on offer in our room!!!
The amount of waste being produced daily from disposable crockery/cutlery was alarming! But maybe that's a cultural thing too.

Great hotel and experience from beginning to end.
Pros:

Had a great experience. Rooms were very well kept and updated. Monica was super friendly at the front desk. My family really enjoyed our stay.

Comfortable Stay in Schaumberg
Pros:

I had a good stay at the Springhill Suites in Schaumburg. The decor in the room is pretty basic, but the room was spacious and clean and the bed comfortable. Rooms feature a bedroom area and a separate living area with a couch. No issues with noise. Good value for the rates charged. I would not hesitate to stay here again. Conveniently located for accessing I-290 or the I-90 Toll Road.

Nice hotel close to everything!
Pros:

My room was excellent and the location to where I needed to be for a convention was perfect. Close to all kinds of great restaurants and shopping.

Cons:

The pool was very small, and my room had a strange smell, like someone had tried to mask a bad smell with cleaning products.

Four stars cause it's a good hotel, but one of the front desk employees could've done better.
Pros:

First time in Chicago, it's a nice hotel. They have free breakfast in the morning and they decorate their lobby to match that week's themes. The room I was in was a little dingy. There were tears in the bedsheets and stains on some of the pillows. That was fine, I could deal with that.

At the time I was a Gold member with Marriott so I was able to request a 2pm late check out the next day. However the woman at the front desk (maybe in her 50's, grey/white hair) REFUSED to give me the late checkout. I think she was tired or frustrated because a bunch of kids ran from the indoor pool across the lobby leaving the entire floor wet, so I decided to just leave her alone. The next morning I decided to ask another front desk employee for a 2pm late checkout and he happily granted my request, which was really cool of him. So I don't know what the first employee's problem was but I did feel slighted.

Great hockey stay

We were here for a hockey tournament and had an excellent stay! Special shout out to Christian who opened a conference room for our hockey players to play some mini sticks without disrupting other guests!
