Great location in an historic building. That means everything is accessible but there are a few quirks. Plumbing is dated but works fine, air conditioning is functional but can be noisy; windows look out on the town green but can let in the road noise.
Great staff and impeccably clean.
Although it has all the trappings of a "historic" inn. our room was shabby (despite our being given a so-called "upgrade") and very poorly equipped (also with no desk/table). The service at Reception was generally diffident, with staff seemingly not knowing what they were meant to do. We were disappointed, alas, and especially given the price.
Three night stay on a very busy weekend in Middlebury. Very enjoyable stay in a Porter Mansion room. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful.
I always enjoy staying at the Inn. Middlebury is a wonderful New England town with enjoyable walking paths and interesting businesses such as Otter Creek Used Books.
Great hotel and location. Nice room and comfortable bed. Quaint town. Recommend. Bagel shop to the left of the hotel serves good coffee and breakfast.
A historic Inn with a second floor walk up. An elevator is available with staff assistance.
The bathroom is cramped with limited space for toiletries.
There is no coffee machine or tea kettle in the room. Coffee and tea are available in the lobby but only in the morning.
I chose the Inn for its location, easy walking distance to local restaurants and shopping.
I had a great stay at middlebury inn! The staff was so courteous and helpful and the inn was so peaceful!
Friendly welcoming staff. Beautiful historic, very quiet and lovely amenities. we have had lunch at the tavern. It is delicious and Service is excellent.
This hotel is about 200 years old. It's been updated to modern standards, including being fully sprinklered. Cheap it isn't, but the location is magnificent, being located smack in the middle of Middlebury. You can walk to so many things, but if you need to use your car, parking is ample at the hotel so you don't worry about where to park when returning.
Everything about the inn was just as you might expect -- great dining, comfortable rooms, huge bathroom with a tub, plenty of places to have a coffee and relax. The staff was very pleasant. Fun to learn about the history of the inn.
We had a wonderful weekend with my family (me, my husband and my two parents) visiting my son at Middlebury. The ambience of the old Inn was great, along with the helpful/friendly staff, and the comfortable rooms. We also really enjoyed its closeness to town and to the college. And lastly, we really enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere of the lounge and outdoor veranda. We will definitely be back.
I never sleep well in typical hotels, but slept great here! The rooms were very clean and very quiet! Bedding was very comfortable Breakfast in the restaurant was delicious! Staff were all very friendly and helpful.
We recently had a family reunion and birthday party at the Inn. It was a beautiful weekend. We rented the founder’s room. Working with Rachel was easy and she was very accommodating. The food was delicious and the room was very beautiful. It was so convenient to have the event right at the Inn where most of our guest were staying. Sara and Sam were great help in keeping things moving and organized. I would definitely recommend the location for an event.
If you are on the road and need a little rest and comfort, this is the place! I recommend Middlebury Inn to everyone, a truly wonderful experience!
You have choices as to where you want too stay , Check out which area meets your needs. Main building has stairs annex one level.
Wonderful old inn with its own restaurant serving quality food. Restaurant specials and package options for meals, made it very convenient i.e. not having to go looking for meals elsewhere.
Had a wonderful stay! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful! Special shout-out to Felicia, who went above and beyond.
My husband and I were finally able to stay The Middlebury Inn during Middlebury College's Febuary graduation weekend. It was lovely. I love the convenient location in town and its proximity to campus. If my son didn't graduate, we'd be back next year.
Excellent service and accommodations. Stayed in the motel section. Very roomy. Excellent burger and service in restaurant. Very nice to extend check out for 2 hours for business reasons.
Great location, classic old school decor. Room very clean with excellent shower water pressure. Unfortunately, the room was very hot. I thought that if I dial down the temperature, that it would just stop the heater from turning on as it was at the programmed temp, but it relentlessly heated. Very convenient location to walk to downtown and restaurants. Recommend!
