Great HOTEL
Pros:

From front desk Eunice and Rosemary to waiting staff, cleaning staff, they always make you welcome with a smile, they are top of their game. We highly recommend it Golden Tulip.

Excellent location, view, pool, rooms and staff
Pros:

I chose this hotel as it is recommended by the Tanzania LONELYPLANET paper guide. It was difficult to book as they are not on the common platforms of Booking or Agoda. But found their golden tulip ( Louvre hotels) website and booked direct with a 10% discount if you join which I did.
They have an enormous swimming pool, so good many locals use it after purchasing a day pass.
The hotel is located in the best neighborhood of Dar close to many restaurants etc.
Nice quiet location overlooking cliffs with great view and where you can relax but also be close to the city.
Nice CLEAN big rooms with comfortable king size bed.
The personnel
Is extra polite and actually do work hard!!!!
Nice restaurant in site and very good real fast.
One of the best hotels in Tanzania I visited!

Disappointing
Pros:

Too old installations, the bar was being retrofitted. Room has no confort. The bathroom has no courtains in the shower.

Wonderful place to stay in Dar
Pros:

I stayed at the Golden Tulip for two nights with a group of 15. All of us were pleased with our stay. My family and I had a three bedroom unit, with two baths plus kitchen, and sitting room with two futons. The unit was spacious and comfortable. Good WiFi, plenty of hot water, and from our 14th floor, nice city views. Meals including breakfast were huge with our catered buffet dinners including a delicious range of options.

Pros:

Hotel is in a good location but the rooms could desperately do with an upgrade. Generally clean but looks as though no maintenance has been done since it was built. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly

Pros:

The facilities are looking rather tired so it could do with a refurbishment but the sea location. Is excellent and the food was very well prepared by the pool. Salad was lovely & Chinese better then many restaurants... gym was ok but decor and garden could do with a facelift. Popular on Sunday with local people

Pros:

Finishing quality not so good, a/c broke and was not fixed when first reported had to report second time which led to switching rooms, when booking it was indicated that I will have beach front view but did not get it and when asked they said the info on hotels.com was not accurate. Staff were friendly and nice.

Poor Maintenance and Upkeep
Pros:

Property looks good. But cleanliness is bad, flies in the restaurant, poor service, Initially AC, Toilet flush and power points were not working, they changed my room, even after that I found faulty taps in the bathroom. Though food is tasty, the maintenance is really bad.

Pros:

Very disappointed. Must have been an amazing hotel 10-15 years ago but now in a terrible state of repair. Reception area lovely but elsewhere tired with broken tiles and furniture and lack of upkeep. Food, when available, was. Good but service in some areas very slow. Staff very kind and friendly and made the stay okay overall.

This property is very scenic and staff is very helpful. A large area kept very clean and maintained. Pool is very well located and garden is nice. Breakfast is good with changing items daily.
The property has two issues. The WiFi is not good in the rooms and is not reliable overall. The sound of room air conditioning in the room is on higher side.

Pros:

Staying at the Golden Tulip was fantastic. Historic charm, delightful staff, delicious food. It is an old hotel that was much more grand in yesterday year. While aged, it could use a few upgrades (my bed was a bit lumpy) but all in all, charming and convenient and well worth the price.

The hotel rooms and food was good. However the hotel had a dirty pool most of the time and it had lacked a bureau de change. It made it hard for us to exchange money and we were a group of people. We had to move to other areas in search of it. Rather than that it was a great experience
