Birthday celebration ruined!!

The staff were rushed off their feet but were still friendly, the family room was adequate but quite basic, but it was clean.

Cons:

The hotel was booked as part of my daughters present for her 11th birthday, I had booked the £15 celebration package for the room so when we got there my daughter would be excited about the banners and balloons. We paid the £15 at check in, well the receptionist said, you have the celebration package, that'll be £15 please before we did anything. So we got our room key and went up to the room, phone in hand to video the moment, we opened the door, darkness, lights on, expecting the shimmer and shine of the balloons and banners...NOTHING! The surprise completely ruined, went back down and told staff, who said, if you go out anywhere let me know, and ill do the room, so we went swimming, when we got back to the room, it was so underwhelming, a few balloons on the bed, a card, and a cookie! We went back down for dinner, when we got back the room there more banners and balloons, champagne bottle balloons display the was probably taken from another party, as indont think you would have champagne for an 11 year old girl.

Other than the trolley, very nice, thank you
Pros:

We were saying for Royal Ascot. We like the fact that the staff were there to take a photo for us before we left for the day.
All the staff were very friendly and personable throughout.

Cons:

I was helping my 80 year-old parents and I had to go up and down numerous times carrying their things because there was not a trolley available!!!

Over priced, poorly trained staff, out of stock drinks.
Pros:

The food was good, I had a chicken wrap and skin on chips. I liked that the hotel was linked into Starbucks.

Cons:

Staff working the in the bar area were incompetent. They knew there was a big game on England v Norway and they were running low on stock. I was served a warm bottle of champagne, was told by the senior bar member that I would get a refund and it was on my bill when I checked out. There was not enough staff on and the queue was out the door on both sides. Coffee at breakfast was also awful.
My shower pipe burst off the shower head. If you want to use the gym, it’s an extra £5 and it’s £10 for parking. None of which is advertised.
