Rien
The breakfast and room view were wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful. The location was a beautiful place where you could fully enjoy nature and the scenery.
We stayed in a room located in the spa annex, and from the very beginning the experience was deeply disappointing. As soon as we entered the room, we were struck by a strong smell of damp. The problem was clearly visible: large bubbles on the walls and mold growing on the shower joints. We even took photos to document the state of the room.
We immediately tried to contact the reception, but the room telephone was out of service. Even after reporting the issue, the phone remained unusable throughout our stay. We then attempted to call using our mobile phones, but the network reception in the annex was so poor that it was practically impossible to reach the front desk. Our only option was to go in person.
Once at the reception, we had to wait nearly half an hour as only one staff member was attending to another guest. When it was finally our turn, we were simply told that the hotel was fully booked, leaving us with no alternative but to remain in this unhealthy, damp room.
Upon check-out, we raised the cleanliness issue again, pointing out that much of the mold could have been removed with a simple cleaning product such as bleach. The answer we received was that they do not use bleach because the hotel brands itself as “green.” Unfortunately, this so-called eco-friendly excuse only highlighted their negligence in maintaining basic hygiene standards.
This property advertises itself as a 4-star hotel, but in reality, it deserves no more than 2 stars. The conditions we experienced were unacceptable and misleading for guests expecting comfort and quality. We both arrived in good health, but after the very first night, we fell ill due to the poor air quality in the room.
This was one of the worst hotel experiences we have ever had, and we would strongly advise future guests to avoid it.
Fabulous views, exceptionally friendly staff, proximity to Monet’s house & garden & great food in the restaurant
