Great for Villa Park
Pros:

Great hotel we have used on a few occasions for Villa Park around 30 minutes walk. Basic but functional rooms, clean, good bathrooms. Staff are excellent. Parking onsite for a fee.

Budget hotel, budget experience
Pros:

Extractor fan had not shutoff so was on all night in the bathroom. Heating was via a radiator in the room which didn't seem to change with the controls so the room was hot, the bathroom was cold.
There was no iron in the room so I rang reception. I had to go and get it myself along with an ironing board that I had to cart across the hotel and up the lift.
When I used the shower, the water leaked through the shower base, through the wall (!) and into the doorway and outside hall. I reported it to reception as there is an obvious issue there.
It took around 15 minutes to pay for my parking as the touch screen app did not work so I had to sign up online on my phone and do it there. There were plenty of parking spaces though.
You get what you pay for. Some of these issues were beyond their control, others are probably the expectations of a low budget hotel.
If this stuff bugs you, don't stop there. If you want a cheap room with a cheaper experience, it does the job.

Pros:

Excellent stay, bar and food great, staff really helpful. Just a couple of observations for improvement. In the room there’s a desk/dressing table with electrical sockets but no mirror and a mirror on the wall with no socket for your tongs/straighteners but there would be no where to stand them anyway - you would have to use the floor.
There are only bath towels not bath sheets so they are really small. There is no hand towel so no towel to wrap your washed hair in. I think at least one hand towel is a basic necessity in every room.

Good stay
Pros:

Friendly welcoming staff at reception & bar.
The hotel has been refurbished since we last stayed & it's vastly improved the rooms & all areas.
Only suggestion for improvement would be 2 pillows & bigger towels, but otherwise enjoyed our stay & would stop again

You now have to pay for parking
Pros:

Was taken aback to find that one is now expected to pay a daily rate for parking. For two nights i was told to enter on (unfriendly) touch screen, up to three days - i later discovered I was charged for 3 nights parking. On asking about this I was told to refer to parking provider, didn't really appeared concerned. I've been using hotel for some twenty odd years and it's becoming more impersonal.

Better options are cheaper
Pros:

Mediocre stay, parking charged extra on arrival. Bar and restaurant shut for the festive period without any pre-warning via email. Beds are hard and uncomfortable. Amenities on rations with inadequate tea, coffee, sugar and milk especially as room cleaning is only done on request. No hand towel in bathroom

Campanile Birmingham
Pros:

Bed uncomfortable. Sink too close to the toilet, tap too far into sink, soak floor when washing. Parking charges terrible, never used to charge for parking , until hotel was renovated.
