Pros:

I come back often when I need some zen time and it’s so worth it because the price is great, Staff are lovely, room is always clean and spacey, food is great and big screen TV with streaming
Is easy to use, and super smooth check in and out.

Cons:

The only complaint I could make is last time I stayed, the bed was too soft and we kept rolling into each other but the beds are usually very comfortable and so are the pillows ☺️

A comfortable and well-run hotel with good facilities and sharp reception staff.
Pros:

Overall, I had a good stay and the hotel did most things well. The room was a good size, the shower was good, and the balcony was a nice bonus — it was great being able to sit outside with a coffee and watch the birds flying around. The facilities were all good, and the reception team were excellent. They were young, but clearly well trained, sharp, and professional, which stood out.

The bed wasn’t the best, but it did the job for one night, especially after a long day of travel. My only real room complaint was the desk. I had some work to do during the trip, and the desk felt very low and more suited to a child than an adult. I’m only around 5’8”, so not especially tall, but I still found it uncomfortable to work at for more than an hour or two. Not a deal breaker, but something that could be improved.

The restaurant was a bit hit and miss. The steak had very good flavour, though I asked for medium rare and it came out closer to rare. The pepper sauce was excellent, but the sides were inconsistent. The mash was bland and under-seasoned, the carrots were well seasoned, and the broccolini seemed unseasoned. The cornbread was disappointing — more crumbly and cake-like than expected, and the butter was rock hard rather than softened.

The menu itself felt a little confused in places. There were some unusual combinations, such as hoisin scallops, that made it feel like the kitchen was trying to be creative, but perhaps without enough restraint or focus. There is clearly some talent there, especially with the steak and sauce, but the menu would benefit from picking a clearer direction and executing it consistently rather than trying to be too clever.

Breakfast was much better and mostly hit the mark. The sausages were very nice, and the bacon, juices, and coffee were all good. The only letdown was the danishes, which tasted like they were not freshly baked that morning.

Overall, I’d happily say the hotel side of the stay was solid.

Cons:

With a slightly better bed, a more practical work desk, and a more focused food offering, this could be a really strong stay.
