All the staff were so accommodating, so polite and really couldn’t do enough to make our stay comfortable. Very happy, I would definitely stay again. Also all my special requests were carried out without any fuss.
Everything was lovely
Beautiful old building, quiet and welcoming. Very friendly staff. Welcome drink on arrival and complimentary bottles of water during our stay for when we were going out and about.
Delicious breakfast with very good service. Comfortable , well appointed room. Excellent location in the heart of the city.
Nothing.
Great London hotel in a great location close to tube stations and walkable to attractions. Greeted at the front door and welcomed with a bottle of water and glass of prosecco. Staff was very friendly and helpful and gave us all the information we needed to ensure our stay was all that was expected. Clean, large, air conditioned rooms. Great bathroom with a wonderful shower and tub after a long day of walking around London. Had a wonderful breakfasts and evening cocktails in the restaurant and bar. Historic, stunning building, that felt home comfortable. Will definitely stay here again.
View from the room which was across the Old City with the new City in the background with the Lloyds buiding and various towes
Overview: An excellent business hotel in the heart of London’s financial district. The interior is beautiful and classy. This hotel was once a bank, and the conversion to a 74 room hotel was well executed. On the negative side, the sound insulation between rooms is inadequate, and the HVAC system is not equipped from very hot weather. Although not without flaws, Threadneedles impressed me overall.
Arrival: Friendly and helpful doorman
Check-in: Efficient and friendly check-in. Acknowledged my Marriott status.
Room (314): Nice king room with all the usual appliances including Nespresso coffee maker, tea kettle, mini-refrigerator, iron, TV, etc.
Bed: Good king bed, decent linens.
Sleep quality: overall good but the walls are paper thin. I was fortunate that the neighboring rooms did not have noisy occupants at night. But in the morning, I could clearly hear a parent in the adjoining room lecturing his young daughter.
Bathroom: Spacious bathroom with excellent tub.
Housekeeping: excellent housekeeping service and turn down service.
Service:Overall excellent service
WiFi: rather slow
HVAC: I visited during a record setting heat wave in London, and the HVAC system in the room was completely inadequate. The room was hot the whole time. Fortunately, staff brought me a fan, the fan and my extreme fatigue were the only factors that allowed me to sleep the first night. Seriously consider another hotel of London is experiencing a heat wave.
Tips: (1) I was able to take the train from Heathrow (had to change to a second train at Paddington), and it was an easy walk from the train station to the hotel even with a large suitcase. (2) There’s a great pub 1 block away called The Counting House. (3) Threadneedles is in the heart of the financial district. Many pubs and restaurants in the area are not open on the weekend.
The hotel was lovely and quiet and in a great location in the City of London business district (easy walking to the Tower of London, Globe Theater, Tate Modern, and St Paul’s Cathedral). Our stay was made even better by our very personable barman, Balazs, who not only provided us with us fabulous service and made great cocktails, but also had wonderful recomendations for dining in the area! Great experience!

Breakfast
Absolutely Excellent staff. Made the stay unforgettable
Breakfast was Excellent however £30 plus £15 for pancakes was quite expensive
Gorgeous building, very stylish, spacious, beautiful room, staff was brilliant and professional.
Super hotel.
Stayed for six nights at the hotel. The staff are very nice and the accommodations were quite comfortable. While we enjoyed everyone, Bartender Blaise was quick to offer to make us a special cocktail. He was there at breakfast making coffee for diners and still there late nights after dinner. He’s a hard worker and eager to please. Go check out the bar at Threadneedles!
First thing to note is that the staff were all wonderful. The avg rating does not reflect that and their attention should not be understated. High praise. That being said, I cannot recommend Threadneedles as it is soTIRED and in need of attention. Carpet is thrashed, elevator looks like it belongs in a derelict apartment building. Public use bathrooms have out of order signs. Rooms dimly lit and broken heated towel racks and weird sounds from the toilets. Lukewarm showers. Our party had multiple rooms and all were substandard. Honestly place needs a complete refurbish. We elected to move hotels. Don’t stay here.
