This hotel was one of the nicest we stayed in on our trip.
Yes it’s a little tired with regards to the paintwork but it was clean, comfortable and homely.
The location was also good although we used Lyft to get around a lot.
The breakfast was a little early for us so didn’t try it but the fact it was an option is a big bonus because Memphis doesn’t seem to wake up before 11am!!!
The rooftop bar at sunset is stunning.
We loved the fact that housekeeping was on request as we hate being disturbed every morning by the staff wanting to get done in other hotels.
I don’t know his name but the young doorman on the evenings was very welcoming and friendly at the end of a long day of sightseeing.
We would definitely stay again.
Tv no service no towels in the room had to go to the front desk several times with complaints. The furniture is old it smells dusty and molded , there was also other guest complaining about the tv service. Google surprise it looks nothing like the photos
Great first impression when we pulled up at the door. Parking instructions spelt out and then we were encouraged to check-in, drop our bags (no rush) and then park the car across the road. Room was a corner King which had a separate lounge and a (proper) King Bed! Shower also a stall and NOT over the bath although the tap was a bit of fun - hot first then cold 😂. Rooms are kinda old but that’s the style and carpet could use replacing but no big deal. Rooftop bar is a must for sunset over the Mississippi River and the Bridges. However highlight of our stay was Eboni at reception - her suggestions for where to eat were both bang on - especially Gus’s Chicken. Highly recommended.
Eboni’s customer service was excellent. The location is really nice and they have a great rooftop patio to catch sunset.
A nice lactation with a ten minute walk to Beale street. The 10 dollar breakfast was great with lovely coffee and a nice section of foods. The roof top bar was fabulous with a really good happy hour. Our room was compact but was ok. Nice bed but boy was it high. Bathroom was big as well. A kettle would have been nice
I statyed in room 604
My experience at this hotel was excellent and awesome from the doorman to the check in staff and the cook they were wonderful and amazing they was polite they was friendly the service they gave was so excellent whenever I come back to Memphis that would be the hotel that I stay at the atmosphere was l peaceful calming my room was great these staff members deserve a raise this is the first hotel I've been at where the service is phenomenal keep up the good work and service.
This is an older hotel. Carpet was stained and very old. Parking isn’t included but there is a garage across the street. I did feel very safe using garage. You must have a code to get into garage but it’s $30/day. Loved the rooftop bar. Breakfast being included could have made experience better. I feel like i paid for more than I got. Concierge was the sweetest!!! Enjoyed trip but wouldn’t stay here again.
New carpet needed . Check in desk area needs a more welcoming update.
Friendly staff
This hotel is in a great location for a walkable stay in Memphis. The rooftop views of the river are a main attraction. The $10 breakfast is comparable to what some hotel brands offer free so we skipped this the second morning.
We were checked in without a problem. Our two rooms could use some updating. The carpet needs to be replaced. There were what looked like fried chicken crumbs on the sofa, we had to call for towels as well as drinking cups for both rooms. These are basic housekeeping duties that were overlooked. I love the rooftop bar here and the hotel itself. I really hope there is a difference in quality of cleaning before I return.
Good
Highlight is the rooftop bar with happy hour watching sunset over the Mississippi.
Good location too.
Don’t bother with breakfast with plastic cutlery and plastic food :)
Staff almost surly except for doorman.
Very friendly and helpful staff made us feel welcome.
The rooftop bar is terrible, uncomfortable and poor quality drinks in plastic glasses. Everything was sticky. The room
Was ok, but had an odd odor. The television didn’t get reception most of the night. I would not stay there again
We had a GREAT experience. It felt like home. We were treated with kindness compassion the staff went above and beyond they treated us like family. The staff named here Eboni Johnson
Deadrick Fleming
Denetria
Sunjah bell
Willie Young all treated like family we will tell others how well we were treated at Hu Hotel.
The room was LOVELY, with really cool, unique art deco fixtures and huge windows in the bathroom! For a similar price, it was by far the nicest hotel we stayed at on our 10 day road trip. The bell hop was incredibly helpful and friendly. The bed and bedding were super comfortable and the lobby had a great breakfast for only $10/guest. The location was also fabulous!
Comfortable accommodation with always helpful and courteous staff in a prime location for all major tourist sites that are within short walking or driving distance. The hotel roof bar and balcony have superb views across the Mississippi river as far as Arkansas and ideal for a perfect sunset.
The staff was the best part of the stay. They were all incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel and room itself was nice, although there were minor things that could use updating including the floor in the elevator coming up in one corner and the toilet paper holder in our room wasn’t stable. Again, any issue was minor and would not prevent us from staying there again next time we’re in town.
No water in the hotel
