The atmosphere was very cozy
The rooms are loud. You can hear the shower of your neighbors directly in your room.
The room was worn out. Paint was coming down in the bathroom.
Good location and easy parking
Felt dated and tired. Pool area was really busy and sun-loungers were crammed in.
Room and restaurant were excellent

Facilities great.
Restaurant team very good.
Some members of reception could have been more welcoming, (and this comment is coming from a fellow hotel receptionist).
Reception staff helpful.
During our recent three‑night stay at the Pillar and Post (Room 103), we were disappointed by several aspects of the experience, particularly given the rate of £225 per night.Room quality and noise:
The bathroom was extremely small, the carpet was worn to the point the pattern had disappeared, and the room overall felt dark and dingy. Its location directly beside the car park, cycle park, and public bathrooms meant constant noise. We could also clearly hear guests walking in the room above, making it far from a peaceful space.
Service issues:
We waited 20 minutes on the patio to be served drinks and eventually left because no one came. The hotel bar and reception areas were uncomfortably cold more like a fridge than a welcoming space and the bar closing at 11pm felt unusually early for a hotel of this standard.
Spa and pool cleanliness:
The hot spring required a thorough clean; tiles were scummy and the walkway was dirty. We notified spa reception that the jacuzzi had debris floating in it, including what appeared to be skin particles, which made it unusable.
The outdoor pool was overcrowded and we were unable to get a sun lounger.
Food and beverage:
The restaurant food was average; the prawn cocktail was so cold it lacked flavour. The espresso martinis were excellent.
Shuttle service:
Although we used the complimentary shuttle once, on another occasion the HobNob restaurant had to call three times because it did not arrive.

Facilities are beautiful, old school charm. Nice to have a pool. Wonder location, easy walk down to the Main Street where there are tons of shops and restaurants.
Would have loved a late check out.
The location is great and the exterior property grounds are lovely.
The room we stayed (just off reception facing the parking lot) in is in desperate need of an upgrade. Immediately when you walk in there’s an overpowering smell of cheap air freshener and it feels damp. The carpet is thick and visibly worn in parts and clearly causing the smell. Overall the room was very dated and felt unclean. I understand this decor is typical for Niagara hotels but it was less the decor and more that you could tell everything was very old and not well maintained from a cleanliness perspective.
Parking was very difficult around the hotel. Extra parking was available across the street, hidden, but we did not learn this until leaving. There was no mention by the staff and there were no signs directing to overflow parking.
Rooms were clean , though the 1st floor limited open window accessibility. I should have asked to be on the 2nd floor for privacy.
1st floor lack of privacy. My room faced the flower garden and there was no privacy.
The hotel is very pretty and quaint feeling. The location is good for proximity to main town area. The grounds are absolutely gorgeous! Flowers and plants and a beautiful park across the street. There is an indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
The rooms are nice but are starting to show some wear. For the price of the room they should touch up the paint.
The hotel is just a 15-minute walk from the picturesque Queen Street, surrounded by stunning scenery. In front of the hotel, there is a lovely garden that guests can explore. The hotel features an outdoor pool with a bar that serves refreshments to those lounging by the pool. The backyard is well-maintained and inviting. We enjoyed breakfast at the hotel, and the dining area had a charming vintage ambiance, accompanied by a delightful breakfast selection.
The rooms need to be renovated.
