The room, bathroom, toilet not cleaned after 7 days of staying and even complaining to the staff. NO change of fresh towels and beddings. No trash was taken out in our 10 days of stay. No top up of shower gel and toilet papers yet we had the tag at the door everyday that said "top me up". We had to buy our own shower gel. The staff were arrogant and not cooperative.
Good stay, Nothing wrong with the trip.
Exceptional customer service from Royce, Very pleasant with a good attitude and great customer service from him.
Thank you Royce
This hotel is still undergoing refurbishment works on the bottom floor which is extremely evident with the strong smell of paint and general mess in the corridors. Upon entering our room, we were greeted with the sight of an unflushed toilet. The room, however, was clean but was sadly let down by stains on the curtains and holes in the quilt. The hotel is conveniently located for the deansgate area but is sadly let down by what I hope are initial teething issues whilst undergoing a rebrand.
I use Travelodge regularly when I travel for Business or personally with family.
The hotel reception guy at Riverside Manchester was friendly and helpful at check in. The Rooms at the bottom were not available due to work being carried out. Workmen on site. However that was fine and general cleanliness was good. I liked the new room layout. However let down by 4 main things.
1) I booked for 2 people and there was only one large and one small towel in the room. To get more meant going down flights of stairs (no lift) then leaving the building to go to another building to request two towels. These should already be in the room as standard.
2) The shower soap was completely empty and hand wash soap was a quarter full and was mainly filled with water. I usally bring body wash with me, but forgot mine. So was a major inconvenience when already in the shower.
3) The kettles mesh filter was filthy. Looks like it had never been cleaned. This was built up over time and does not seem to have ever been replaced or cleaned. There was clumps of dirt and what looked like a lots of brown grime and insects stuck to it. So we were unable to use it.
4) When checking out I mentioned this and the young lad simply ignored me. Then the receptionist came soon after, so I advised him, and said he apologised and will note it.
We only realised the bathroom and kettle issues late at night. But the layout of the hote didn’t help, I have difficulty walking and there is no lift. So having to walk all the way down from 2nd floor and then out of the building to tell someone at 11pm at night was not worth it.
This would have been a great stay here, but these basic things that should be noticed by cleaning staff. This tells a story of them either being overworked, not happy doing the job or simply not doing a good job.
I have pictures of the main issues, if required.
Checking in, the room and the hotel in general were all great. A friend who had stayed there a few days earlier mentioned that the fruit juice dispenser wasn't working when he went for breakfast and there was no alternative such as cartons of fruit juice. It was still broken and there were still no alternatives. Also there were delays in replenishing the other breakfast buffet items. I believe fresh bacon had just been put out, but other people had been waiting so I took the last two rashers and then had to wait for scrambled eggs. I couldn't be bothered waiting for baked beans.
Someone give Shirley his flowers - he is a credit to the hotel and made our stay very memorable - long live Shirley!! Xoxoxox
Fantastic stay. Absolutely no issues at all and the night staff at the bar (Melody and Shirley) were absolutely amazing and helped end our night with a good laugh and extremely friendly customer service. Definitely staying here next time we’re in Manchester.
Absolutely fantastic experience! Thank you so much to Melody & Shirley at the bar for making our night, they were brilliant! Very friendly staff and clean room with a riverside view. Will definitely be staying here again next time we’re in Manchester!
This hotel is disgusting, firstly the reception staff had to call someone to check they had a double room even though I’d booked one, the outside of the hotel is messy and trash everywhere, the carpet going to the room had white stains on it, the carpets were joined with tape and not carpet grippers, the room was musky, yellow stains on the bedsheets, paint on the toilet seat and floor, dirty soap bottles, carpet didn’t look cleaned/vacuumed, extra parking charge of £8, breakfast which is “unlimited” is cold and very limited, no juice and the juice isn’t fresh it’s from a machine, coffee just tasted like dirty water!! Very disappointing
Filthy room - there was hair all over the shower/toilet and in the bed too.
The bedside tables were sticky and the floor hadn’t been hoovered and had bits of paint chipped off all over the floor. I only got three hours of sleep as the other guests were very noisy which is a shame as I was there to sleep before competing in a hyrox race and wanted to feel refreshed however I should have driven up on the morning and avoided this place completely. A real let down.
This place is perfect location and just what you need when travelling to Manchester. Near the centre to travel anywhere. I would say the staff are super friendly and helpful. If you get steph, Mia and chloe you'll enjoy your experience
Loves my time staying at this travel Lodge. What made the difference was the staff, particularly Steph and Mia. Really friendly and if u were to come back I'd pick here.
This tavellodge has everything you need. Great rooms and friendly staff. Steph and Mia were helpful with pointing out local places to visit and great chat. I am staying for the football at Salford and it’s a perfect location between the city centre and the ground. Bar opens til 4 which is great too 👍🏻
We stayed at the Manchester central 2 years ago and we were very pleased with the room which is why we booked a stay this year unfortunately our room was dirty carpets had bits all over it ,the sides were filthy and the toilet was dirty also the outside carpark was in a pretty bad state as well we won't stop there again
Stopped in this travelodge while visiting Manchester. On arrival checking in was smooth, staff very helpful and friendly. Room was refurbished and cosy with a decent sized bathroom and TV. Plenty of refreshments in the room too. Lovely location with an view of the river and quiet too. Cleanliness of the room was amazing very clean. Highly recommend visiting here you won't be disappointed.
Had a really lovely 2 day stay at Manchester Central Riverside. The room and bathroom was clean and well kept. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming. I want to give a special thanks to Steph, Mia and Dan for making my stay even more comfortable with their friendly and lovely hospitality.
Convenient location in between Manchester city centre and Old Trafford, so great for going to the football. Friendly customer service making check in easy. Rooms are nice with comfy beds, and great for solo travelling. Hotel restaurant is also very nice.
Horrendous experience. Arrived after a 6 hour journey on Boxing Day. Room was freezing as window open because of strong smell of paint fumes. Dirty in room and litter in corridor outside. No security to get into the building/ corridor which made me feel unsafe as a solo traveller. No WiFi or shower curtain. Paint on toilet seat. Asked to change rooms but none available. Have asked for a full refund but travelodge have refused.
Sherly Baby was an absolute star, and gave us the best service I think I have ever had. As we came in he was extremely welcoming and couldn’t have asked for more. Will definitely be coming back.
The worst breakfast experience i have ever had. Sunday morning 10am with an hour to go before the end of the breakfast session and there was no food and i mean no food. All the hot food containers were empty, the croissants and the breads all gone and empty, the milk was empty and the coffee machine broken. I had to go to the receptionist and complain and she just said sorry there are only three of us on today. When a chap did bring 10 slices of bacon out, they were gone in seconds and still had no food to eat. No attempt made to fill up the continental breakfast food. I paid for two days breakfast and didn't bother on the second day. Bad bad service with little attempt to deliver to the customer. The room itself was OK and did the job.
