April was so Welcoming and kind, we came to just relax and it was a Beautiful place for just that.
I did not plan a longer stay! Lol
Location was great. Clean room and polite staff
Conflicted with this one. The property is very nice and everything in the common areas seems well maintained overall. We've stayed here before and figured we would go again for a quick Busch Gardens and Colonial Williamsburg trip. Location is good, nice and quiet and removed from major roads. Both trips, we stayed in the regular one room accomodations. Nothing really to write home about in the rooms, basic mid level appointments, and rooms were both clean. Unfortunately, the room this time had a fairly musty smell, I think due to the HVAC not being able to remove enough humidity from the room. It got the temperature to an acceptable level but it felt a bit damp. I can't dock much for this as we decided that we didn't want to pack up everything and request a new room, so we bought an air freshener and febreze and dealt with it, we weren't planning on doing anything other than sleeping in the room anyway, so it was bearable, and again our own decision.
It was clean and the amenities
Lack of food and overnight resource
It was very pretty.
The property was far away from check-in and you had to move your own luggage and take your luggage to your rooms. There was no coffee shop. There was one restaurant and one pool. It is really for an older population. In addition, the shower did not drain, the sink did not drain, and the pullout sofa was very hard and uncomfortable. The facility was very pretty, but the hotel rooms themselves were nothing more than a regular hotel. I would not spend the extra money again, and you had to pay for parking which was not disclosed.

Clean. Comfortable. Large accommodations
The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, and the indoor hot tub was quite lovely and relaxing. Overall, despite the nearby construction, the grounds were relatively quiet and peaceful. What staff I interacted with were quiet and relatively friendly.
I specifically did not book a villa because we intended to use the pool and restaurant that were listed on what is billed as a 4 -star resort. I booked a King room assuming that it would be in a main building near to the amenities listed. Instead, rather than being near the main building where the open pool and restaurant are, we were literally up the street and around the corner in the complex in a building that required driving to get back to the main building. I could have chalked that up to my own misunderstanding of the listing, however ...
The "2 restaurants" available were a refrigerator and shelves in the lobby with convenience store items and a "bistro" with bar food rather than a sit down restaurant in a 4 star hotel. The "breakfast," which was not included in the pricing though it was listed as an amenity (again, I should have verified) was the above mentioned convenience store items in the lobby. And as I was checking in, I was asked if I needed a parking pass and was then informed that would cost an additional $20, which was not included in the confirmation email from the hotel and certainly not prominent anywhere in the listing.
When I called down to the front desk to request information about parking for the pool I hit the At Your Service button as the paper they'd given me at check in indicated. Rather than connecting me to the front desk I was connected to a bot pretending to be human that took two additional steps to get me to a human being. When I tried 0 to connect directly regarding a more urgent matter in the morning, it still connected to a bot that then argued with me when I asked for the front desk immediately. At least the pool did have a changing room so I didn't have to drive back to my room wet.
Everything paying for parking
Totally a scam, bringing lambs to the slaughter. Prior to arrival via phone calls and the cumbersome and lengthy checkin aka high pressure though well rehearsed sales pitch, and every day during the day w/daily sales call, this is a well choreographed dance designed solely to seperate the uninformed and unsuspecting from their hard earned money. It actually made me sad to witness it. Honestly.
Rooms were clean, freshly painted and well maintained. However from having to pay for parking in a grocery store parking lot, to constant and dusty construction , to the biz ctr. being out of order and the simple inability to get a complimentary cup of coffee in the morning, this was not a standard Marriott experience and don't ever expect Marriott Bonvoy amenities to apply. The theft and opportunism is quite obvious here.
I'll start with the positive first. The 2 bedroom villa layout is very nice, it was real clean as well. The problems start here. 1. The wifi wouldn't work, we got the living room tv to work but the two bedroom tvs wouldn't connect to wifi, our cell phones wouldn't work in rooms, couldn't use my laptop. Not good when you are staying for 5 nights on vacation. 2. The master bedroom had no insulation from windows, it was always colder in that room and there were no room darkening drapes so the lights from outside at night would shine in through the blinds keeping us awake. We were on first floor so anytime the folks above us would run water, we would start hearing weird noises coming from our master bathroom, water flowing loudly down pipes in walls. The fire alarm went off one day as they were working in area. We were put in very last building far away from the registration office, which really sucked. Had we known about the issues with WIFI alone, we would have stayed somewhere else.
