Beach House Suites by the Don CeSar

Our stay was exceptional!
The suites were decorated beautifully & has everything you need to make the stay so enjoyable! The staff was friendly, responsive and exceptional service! The view from the balcony was serene for breakfast & happy hour! The extra touch with the white comfy robes and heated pool was delightful!

Raymond was amazing!!! Great restaurant recommendations, cautious driver and overall fun time! I would recommend him !

Now I know what you're thinking. Did I fire five times or six. Well in the excitement I lost track myself... Sorry, wrong movie. I know what you're thinking though. The Don Cesar. The Pink Palace on the Gulf. Wide beach, historical hotel. Yes, that is all true. But the treasures I speak of are the employees at the Beach Suites, that made the stay exceptional. First, the experience at check in. Aimee made it a pleasure, and if you don't think the front desk manager sets the tone for your stay, read my review of our encounter with the front desk clerk from hell at the hotel in Tampa. Second treasure, Raymond the shuttle driver, who will drive you up and down the street to your restaurants, and provides a wealth of information on where to eat. Take his advice, he knows his meals. And the best for last, Fabian the beach master. Friendly accommodating, anticipates your needs, a true gem. Memo to management, buy this guy a golf cart, so he can set things up and take them down easier. I have never seen a hotel or resort employee work harder than him. The rooms at the Beach House are large, with all you need. Great shower with almost instant on hot water. If you think that is not important, try waiting 5-7 minutes for the hot water, as at some places we have been to. And there is nothing like watching the sunset in the Gulf, whether from your balcony or on the beach. The food service at both the Beach House and the main pool, can use some upgrades, though.

Raymond has been our driver several times. He is amazing! He always answers his phone, takes us where we need to go, gets us there safely, and is sooooo fun!!!

I love the Beach House suites, the shuttle is a great service. Raymond is wonderful and very knowledgeable about the area. The pool area, tiki bar, rooms, everything are A+, clean, very well stocked which is wonderful!

Ramon was the best driver. Gave us recommendations on where to go around st. Pete’s beach and was always there very quickly. Thank you!

When one talks about excellence, I truly believe that there are certain places that we can say that word and people know the true meaning everything was truly excellent. They have taken perfection to another level. Location ,cleanliness ,views ,employees !employees were some of the best !service politeness! The atmosphere showed through the employees happiness to be at work! The rental bicycles were not just any bicycle but the best E bikes I’ve ever ridden on! What more can I say? But absolute perfection for a weekend? Thank you.

My mom and I booked a very last minute trip for NYE, and it was the best start to the year! Our room was super cute and the perfect size for just us two for a couple of days. The hotel itself is gorgeous inside and out. The shops and restaurants are so convenient — a bit pricey — but it’s all a part of the experience, and it’s so worth the getaway being directly on the beach.

Every single worker we encountered was very nice, helpful, and attentive. It was really reassuring to see them constantly cleaning up and ensuring great quality at all times. With our room being right next to maintenance, it was a little noisy, but other than that, even with it being NYE and the weekend, it really didn’t feel that busy since there’s so many areas so spread out and things to do. Special shoutout to shuttle driver, Patrick!! He was so friendly, always started conversations with us, and worked on NYE night! Overall, loved the place and will definitely be back!

Here are my cons:
• Spa Oceana: The service prices are honestly outrageous. It’s not as special as any other nicer day spa. The lockers are really cramped together and having to walk back out to the lobby in our robe where people are checking in/out or workers walking in/out made me feel a little uncomfortable. My mom and I got an 80-minute hot stone massage and had pretty different experiences. Mine was with Coney, she did an excellent job and I came out feeling very relaxed. My mom, however, did not — massage therapist felt under experienced, very sporadic transitions from one area to the next, kept repeatedly digging into a tendon thinking it was a muscle, coughing, and there was a giant window in the room with no shade drawn, so she had to undress in front of a big window and didn’t have a nice dim relaxing room. $700 later we ended our experience at the rooftop, upon arriving almost all the loungers had towels laying on them from people that had left, the tables were messy, and tried calling for service 3 times for a glass of wine and nobody ever answered which made us ultimately decide to leave the spa. Oh, and be aware of service dogs — a lady in the locker room was just letting hers wander about the locker room and lobby area without holding the leash…
• KIDS IN THE HOT TUB: Listen, not to be an actual Karen, but I genuinely wish kids weren’t allowed in hotel hot tubs. The one at the Beach Suites is already very small, then you let a bunch of kids use it when there is a huge heated pool next to it. We didn’t use it the entire time due to this, so we used the fitness center one on the last night instead. And you all know they’re just peeing in there anyway, right?! Anywho…

Our family had the best time!
Accommodations were great although a few more kitchen items would be nice. The staff was all very helpful and nice. Anthony at the front desk was very accommodating to our needs. Patrick and Raymond, our shuttle drivers were so nice and gave great recommendations for restaurants. A fabulous week!!!

Lovely! Absolutely adored the shuttle service. Our driver Raymond took amazing care of us and promptly arrived safely with lots of info to share!

Raymond was our shuttle driver for the Beach Houses at Don Cesar . He was so friendly , informative and shared a wonderful place to go for dinner on the bay . He picked us up promptly to take us back also . What a treat to be shuttled around in a nice van with a kind and patient driver ! We were able to pick up shuttle in front of our hotel .
