Could not fault this place,will definitely book again.The staff were all so friendly, the room was big,comfy,quiet and had everything you could possibly need.
So place was stunning perfect location
So room wasn't clean thoroughly there was random rubbish and bed had stain on covers
Asked staff for a special request wasn't read and was gutted was there to celebrate my 9 years with my partner breakfast was a bit basic aircon in room wasn't any good did nothing

The breakfast was very tasty and well cooked, and there was a good selection. The room was a decent size and having two different pillow firmness options was very helpful. The room seemed to reach the expectations I'd have for cleanliness.
When I arrived the concierge said there was a choice of rooms. I asked which had the best view and she replied '....it's Birmingham.' I think she was trying to be witty to say that no view in Birmingham is good, but this just seems derogatory and negative, especially when it's said to someone who is from Birmingham and didn't need to hear that level of snark at the end of a long day. She could have instead advised on which room was sunrise-facing etc. The air con in my room didn't work - the wall panel wouldn't switch on or respond. The TV guide on the TV didn't work. The hairdryer would only blow cold air. In the morning, the clearing of tables at breakfast was a little slow so I had to eat mine at a table that had dirty plates on it, which was recommended to me by the greet staff - I acknowledge that it may have been peak time but there just didn't seem to be enough staff on the cleaning team, possibly even only one - or alternatively it could be said there wasn't enough tables. Worst of all, I had finally managed to get to sleep quite late but was woken up by a persistent humming at around 5.45am - I couldn't locate the sound, it seemed to be coming from the ceiling but it didn't make sense. I was unable to sleep after that so my night was ruined. I'd booked the one night stay as a peaceful treat to rest between big and busy personal days but just left extremely deflated and disappointed after about 4.5hrs sleep, especially when the concierge staff I checked out with expressed no serious concern at my ruined night and just basically dismissed me with a 'have a nice day'. Would not go back.
