What an experience from the beginning to the end especially if you are a member as well. Good check-in and check out experiences, the room is OK but the main difference for me is the location and breakfast.
The hotel is less than 10 minutes from Bristol Temple Meads station and is about 10 minutes walk into Bristol town centre.
The cooked breakfast is top class especially the bacon, sausages and hash browns. Loved it.
The room was as described, bed was confortable.
We had dinner at the restaurant of the hotel; the Fish and chips £ 20 was half a portion of fish with chips, sauces and a slice of white bread loaf covering by itself the empty space on the plate.
Very disappointed by the size of the fish itself. We will NOT be coming back.
Everything was very good except the organisation part and the service at breakfast. We travelled with a coach tour and stayed there for 3 nights and it was the same each morning,The jam finished during breakfast the first morning and when I asked for more the waitress said they didn’t have any more so I complained in reception and the receptionist said she would pass the message to the head chef, so I let it go and hoped that I could have jam with my croissant the following morning but I didn’t or on the third morning! Also you had to ask for bowls , plates and cutlery if there weren’t any to be seen- surely the staff should see that they were running low and replace them🤷♀️The same was for croissants, bread and milk in the tea/ coffee machine!
By the third morning the soft butter in the small packages had finished so there was only a plate with a big block for everyone to help themselves to! Also when I asked for a fried egg I was told that it was made to order so whilst waiting for it my food had gone cold andI gave up on the third mornin g because there was no one behind the counter for me to order it.
Yes I know mornings can be busy but they knew that a coach had booked for 3 nights . It wasn’t entirely the staff’s fault I don’t think that they hadn’t been trained properly.
Clean and comfortable room in a good location close to the centre
Breakfast was disappointing and poor value for money. If I stay again, I will go elsewhere for breakfast
Was Fine could have been hotter
We really liked the size of the bed and the pillows. We’ve both been struggling with sleep of late so this made our stay really great as we both had a wonderful night sleep!
We weren’t impressed with the entrance to the car park. We had a tight turn and unbeknownst to us, mounted the small stepped island as we can around the corner. We were slowly driving, obviously, but as we moved forward the rear tyre then came off the step and has damaged the underside of the exhaust heat cover and caused banging all the way home and will cost us to have fixed.
Secondly, I wasn’t particularly impressed with breakfast. The cleanliness of the tables/chairs and floor weren’t really kept up to between changes of guests so we sat on a particularly unclean table. We asked for it to be cleaned which the server did. But it took quite a while for them to work around the rest of the tables. It did look understaffed. Also the replenishing of food wasn’t very smooth. There was a wait for the cooked elements of the meal which meant my partner didn’t get any bacon at all for his breakfast as it wasn’t re-stocked whilst we ate. And when we were leaving the meats and cheese were then brought out which we hadn’t had access to during our time. We do understand the nature of service and demand but it wasn’t a particularly rushed time when we arrived but it was still something we had paid for so had hoped the full stock of the breakfast would be available to us.
Excellent location comfortable beds. Would stay here again.
The location.
We were given a wheel chair access room, which I didn't ask for. You couldn't move in the bathroom for equipment and there was no where to put anything in the room.
Clean and good breakfast
