Lovely clean hotel with pleasant staff and a great location
Happy Staffa day nice food
Difficulty’s locating car park entrance and small bathroom
Very welcoming and interested in giving you a relaxing experience.
The evening meal in the restaurant was not good. Choice was limited, presentation was poor and I did not think good value for the money.
While the location and some practical aspects are strong, significant comfort issues and noise problems noticeably reduced the overall experience, especially considering the hotel’s solid rating. Self check‑in worked very well and made arrival quick and straightforward. The hotel is conveniently located close to Bristol Temple Meads train station, which is especially practical for travelers arriving by train. The room offered plenty of useful furniture, including a proper closet, drawers and a chair, making it comfortable for a short stay. It is also positive that this property has completed “Travel Proud” training. Additionally, there is a bus stop directly in front of the hotel entrance with a direct connection to the train station, although it was unfortunate that the receptionist was not aware of this useful option.
It is difficult to understand why the hotel provides large 443 mL bottle of shampoo, 443 mL bottle of conditioner, 443 mL bottle of shower gel, 443 mL bottle of hand wash and 443 mL bottle of body lotion free of charge, yet does not provide potable drinking water in the room. Fresh water is available only in the gym, which requires going downstairs and having a suitable container, something that feels unacceptable in 21st‑century England. There was a very strong smell of bleach throughout the entire stay, to the point where it caused physical discomfort and breathing irritation after just one night. The smell was so intense it felt as if extreme cleaning had taken place shortly before arrival. The room was also equipped with a basic television offering only terrestrial channels, rather than a smart TV, which feels outdated for this category of hotel.
Noise was another issue. Loud music could be heard in the hallway, despite previous guest complaints and management promises that this problem would be resolved. Housekeeping staff were also noticeably noisy. Finally, breakfast is served only until 10:00 a.m., which feels restrictive, particularly for guests traveling for leisure.
The hotel was very neat, tidy and clean throughout and staff kind and welcoming. Comfortable night sleep, although I was a bit warm, but handily did have opening windows in our room rather than just air con - fresh air always a preference.
Great hotel, very comfortable bed and very close to city. Would definitely return again.
Nothing
Lovely quiet room overlooking the park
Nothing!
Great location, walking distance the station. Room was comfortable, bonus having air con as it was warm in the room. we were on 5th floor and although roadside couldn't hear traffic noise. Breakfast was plentiful, fresh and replenished promptly. Only gripe, coffee machine was a bit of a wait as only one working and took a while to pour request. All staff in bar and restaurant, helpful and welcoming. Equally reception staff friendly and helpful. Also useful to have an umbrella lending machine in the foyer as it was very wet on a few occasions! Didn't use gym facilities so can't comment however we walked everywhere as easy to get to main attractions from hotel. Bus stop outside hotel front door, the number 8 goes to Clifton Village from there.
Nothing to add here. All was to our satisfaction.
We always stay here when in Bristol. It is excellent value for money in a great central location and, of course, is immediately opposite a quiet little park containing the old Templar Church. The staff are consistently helpful. It is less than five minutes walk from Temple Meads railway station and within easy reach of numerous pubs, restaurants etc.
Nothing not to like.
Staff very friendly and couldn't do enough . Breakfast was excellent and hotel quiet. Map given to find way around and bus stop straight outside Hotel which we used to get further .
We had a lovely room with a view of the park. Beds were super comfy and shower pressure was superb. The restaurant and bar staff provided excellent service. A very quiet hotel for its location.
There were a few small chips in the shower tray which were discoloured which made it look a little dirty at first glance.
Parking was expensive.
