Great location, comfortable bed, friendly staff. Offered breakfast but we slept in. Location is good for places to eat as well. Will stay there again.
Heard traffic & the train from our room, but that was to be expected, so we could be close to the Sandman Centre. Would have like the a/c to work better (or a fan near the bed) however it is an old building, so once again, not surprised.
Tv was hard to connect to think that the batteries needed changing on the remote control. Coffee in the room was decaffeinated and that's the only thing I didn't like.
The location
The female behind the desk out right lied about vacancy and my payment. Said that they didn't receive my payment. And it was clearly taken from my account. Booking.com confirmed that yes, they did have my payment and refused to return it until booking.com told them to refund it.
Then refused me to rent a room saying they were all booked. When again, booking.com confirmed there were rooms available.

room was clean and quiet but do not stay here expecting a breakfast. this was one of the worst hotel breakfast i have ever had. all items were liek they had been reheated mutiple times and were very bland.

The room
Stayed one night in the King Suite with my husband. The toilet had poop along the bowl. Called and we were assured it would be cleaned first thing in the morning, nothing. Talked to the front desk when we left and were assured a discounted evening and that the manager would call as soon as he came in. Never called. I called back every day for a week, no return calls and the manager was never there or available. Never resolved. Place overall was pretty dirty. We were there first in the morning at 6 am to eat breakfast - there was still food under the tables from who knows, no way to dry hands in the washroom down stairs. Poor overall experience, dirty, down right disgusting to find poop in our room toilet and never cleaned…

I reserved a room, with a local address, and even checked in online the day before. When I arrived with my spouse I was told, very rudely, I was having my reservation canceled because I was a local. I will never stay in a whyndad hotel again. I have been telling everyone I work with in the industry to boycott Whyndam, I'm sorry for your loss

Refused accommodations, charged a full "cancelation fee" despite being refused service, very disappointing.
Good location
This is very run down, absolutely not a 4*. Found multiple hairs under the fitted sheets, also marked, complained and did not want to stay a 2nd night refused a refund but did get a room upgrade. Suite was better but lots of wear and tear
Worst sleep of my life. This hotel has heating problems that need to be addressed. We stayed here in February and the temperature inside our room was over 90 degrees. The only way to cool the room down is to keep the window open so all the noise from the street kept me up all night. There's a nightclub in the same building that plays loud music out into the street - plus partiers outside screaming late into the night. Smells like cigarette smoke. Just awful. I don't recommend staying here under any circumstances.
