Older hotel, stay in bigger remodeled rooms

Pan Pacific is right outside of old quarter in the charming Westlake area. If you want to be in the action, this is not it. If you like a quiet area, this is a good hotel. First let me just say I booked through Amex and I expected 5 stars, I’d say this hotel is 4 star at best. The service was good but the rooms are dated and the hotel in general does not have the 5 star personalization/charm that most hotels have.

My first room was run down and had an odor. The electrical plugs didn’t work, it smelled musty, the carpet was gross and the ac filter was falling out of my closet. It wasn’t until I called Amex to complain that the manager offered graciously to move me before I moved myself. I have to say the top level is a major difference and my room was way nicer when I moved. If I didn’t escalate the issue, I would probably not have stayed — it was pretty bad. All in all, service was great during my stay. The spa was awesome. Gym got crowded daily but it has amazing amenities. The hotel lobby is gorgeous and I guess depending on the room, it can be a nice stay. I would not book a basic room though until they remodel.

Perfect Hotel for a Business Trip in Hanoi
Pros:

The Pan Pacific Hanoi truly impressed me during my business trip. The location is excellent, and the view over West Lake is absolutely beautiful. The breakfast selection and dinner were outstanding — both were a real culinary delight.

The service was exceptional in every area: at the reception, in the restaurant, through room service, and in the spa area. The entire team was extremely attentive, friendly, and professional.

In my opinion, this hotel is highly recommended for business travelers. A well-deserved 5-star rating!

Runout Old Rooms
Pros:

We are group of 40 - 20 so called Deluxe rooms, but horrible condition, the Hotel staff is not friendly, you do your own luggage, even for seniors, also rooms are all run down, they worked out in lobby but rooms are very old and need serious renovations, this is not PAN PACIFIC, it is complete downgrade.

Disappointing to say the least
Pros:

This is NOT a four star hotel. The rooms are extremely dated and dirty. Tracks in carpeting outside rooms, leaking sink, grease and dirt on door handles and plates, dust and grime on lighting. Room was supposedly non smoking but it smelled terrible.
