Used the pool, sauna and steam room for the first time. Very nice added extra
We didn't get to use the gym
Have stayed many times as convenient for my office. Hotel is nice, nothing flashy, but beds comfy, rooms clean, breakfast nice and staff friendly.
Only area that needs improving is the evening food menu.
Unfortunately our stay was not good. We really echo some other reviews in that the hotel bedrooms need a massive overhaul, out dated furniture, dull decor, dirty carpets, boiling hot (too hot to get a decent night sleep), mould on bathroom ceiling, we could add more but to be honest would just rather erase the experience!
Great room, definitely worth the extra for a suite, it was huge with lots of character.
Was there for an event the service behind the bar, despite being extremely busy was fabulous.
Just as expected with a quality facility and good value
Always a great stay
Room was clean but only one teabag and not enough milk - sign in door of bathroom informing guests to shut door when showering because condensation/steam makes the fire alarm go off - this happened at 6.45 ish in the morning !
Stayed many times.
Lovely
Carpets need updating, food good.
Lovely hotel I would recommend but more suitable for personal/ couples stay not business trip, food was lovely. friendly atmosphere.
The only negative I would say is although I paid extra for an executive room - the room I was given was not up to that standard and was very basic and small compared to other hotels standards.
Excellent, efficient restaurant.
Only critique is the lack of a fridge in the room.
We had a fire alarm at 6:30am because someone took a shower with the bathroom door open. Despite notice on door so it must be a frequent false alarm.
The grounds are very pretty the inside and rooms are a little tired, the breakfast was very good....however did not appreciate being woken at 6:40 am by the fire alarm and having to evacuate in my pj's....no apology received...i know these things happen and atleast it was a false alarm, but impaired our stay and sleep.
Everything about the hotel was just right
Lovely grounds ,and main lobby is charming..
The rooms could do with sprucing up , especially the bath tub and carpet .
Also we were advised water works going on at the hotel on Sunday after 0900 which would affect the amount of water in rooms .we didn't think much of it ,but the next day ,there was actually no water at all after 0900,not even to flush toilets which I don't think is right for hotel rooms.
The hotel is very nice, the room was big, and the bed was comfortable. However, the main shower head did not work properly (no hot water), there was no shower gel in the dispenser, and the TV had no signal (no channels available). When I tried to contact reception using the room telephone it was constantly engaged. When I went down to the reception, the receptionist was talking on the phone to her friend using the main hotel phone. To be fair to the other hotel staff, they did respond promptly, fixed the TV and refilled the shower gel. I would not stay there again or recommend.
Great place. Checkin super easy. Room was a twin and lovely. Shower pucker too which is important. Pool was a lovely touch and breakfast was monster.
Its a terrible shame that the gardens have been left to go wild. The stonework is crumbling and decaying badly. The room was tired ie bathroom
Silicone black in places.
Very lovely building and surrounding gardens. I used the pool ot the Club each day and really enjoyed the facilities there.
