This was my first experience staying at a W hotel. I didn’t love the W but I didn’t hate it either. The staff was amazing from the bellman to front desk to the housekeepers. What I felt the hotel was missing was a quick grab and go coffee shop for those mornings you want to quickly grab a banana, coffee and muffin to start your day. You are able to purchase to go food at Dos Caminos, but it’s not set up for grab and go.
If you’re looking for a clean hotel with good service and the price matches your budget the W is a great option.
Only stayed for one night for a quick trip to Broadway and the W was great. Amazing location, friendly staff, rooms were fine - no complaints. Parking was $100 per night for valet. We are Marriott Platinum Elite members and were completely satisfied.
Location was perfect!
No coffee machine in the room on the day I was leaving, I spotted a tiny card telling me I could have one, all I had to do was ask! Why not tell me at the time of check-in?
Stayed in the W for originally 5 nights but decided on the last night to extend 3 more nights partly due to the snowstorm. On arrival we were greeted at the front door and pointed in direction of the reception where we were greeted again by a lovely man who had a small chat with us while he sorted our booking and room cards out. Room was amazing with a lovely view right onto Times Square and the beds were 100%.
It was nice to walk out the front door and be right in the middle of Times Square.
Hotel was spotless and as a hotel manager myself I spot everything but was pleasantly surprised at the fact I couldn’t find anything wrong with the hotel from start to finish.
Will definitely 100% return in the future
Stay here for 3 nights. I expected good service but found it lacking. I arrived early, so we needed to wait to check in and drop off our luggage, which took a long time. The reception staff are friendly but unhelpful—they mostly chat among themselves and do not provide useful information about the hotel's benefits. I chose this hotel mainly for its location in the town square, but with this level of service, it doesn't seem worth it. The hotel appears old on the outside, and inside, it's small but modern in style.
A few hours later, I returned to find my room still not ready, and they offered me another room, which was better as the second receptionist was more helpful than the first.
The second room, a corner unit on the 45th floor, was somewhat small but offered a good view. The rate was $40 per day, charged to the credit card, mainly for new york fee, which wasn't very worth it.
The air conditioning works fine, the internet is reliable (as paid for), but the shower temperature fluctuates unpredictably.
Good location
The resort fee terms were unclear
Our stay at the W Hotel Times Square was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth, professionalism, and genuine care. Every single staff member went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable.
The room was beautiful, spotless, and perfectly maintained—you could truly feel the attention to detail. Our cleaning team was amazing, ensuring everything was fresh, organized, and comfortable every day.
The reception staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient, always greeting us with a smile and making us feel valued. The bar staff was equally fantastic—great energy, excellent service, and a wonderful atmosphere.
Honestly, every employee we interacted with was outstanding. It’s rare to experience such consistent excellence across an entire hotel team.
We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and will definitely be coming back. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Times Square who wants top-tier service and a memorable experience.
Everything. Location. All of the staff. From the kick ass doorman who were on point always making sure door was opened for my lady and if I needed any thing. The check in. Perfect. And hooked us up with some extra stuff we asked for. The maid was very polite and took care of our room when we went out. We talked and I know she adjusted her schedule to get ours while gone and then back to what she was doing.
Nothing. 2/2 perfect. I’ll return.
To much noise!!
Staff was great. Breakfast was the worst part
The breakfast in the morning that I paid extra for when booking....was horrible. We waited at hostess stand with 4 other couples to be sat. When I finally walked inside I was told to go bavk and they would get to us. Once seated, the order was wrong and when I told them, they never fixed it nor came back to ask how I was doing.
The location.
It didn’t have the same luxury feel the W hotel chain carries around the world. It felt more like a Holiday Inn experience. The room was dark, barely any lighting. No ventilation fan or window in the bathroom, making getting ready for the day a hot and stressful experience. We also paid for a room with a skyline view, but the only view we had was of guests at the hotel across the street looking back at us.
location
bathrooms!! They were designed by an idiot. They had smokey glass that you could actually see through. Families don't want to see each other using bathroom facilities. Absolutely stupid. Plus our bathroom door kept falling off even after it was fixed. But an even bigger issue was our daughters room. The lock wasn't secure. The strike plate was missing, the cover on the card mechanism kept falling off, and the swinging latch was faulty and didn't work at all. We informed the front desk but it was never fixed during our stay. They continued to stay in the room as it was close to ours and the deadbolt at least seemed to work. We think anyway.
The bathroom vent did not work and there is no microwave to use in the whole hotel.
