I stayed in Room 925 from June 24–28 and had mixed feelings about my stay.
The location is excellent and was the main reason I chose the hotel. The staff was courteous, and I appreciated that they said they would send someone to address the issues I reported.
Excellent location within walking distance of Central Park, Fifth Avenue, Broadway.
Unfortunately, for the price I paid, the overall value was disappointing. At a similar nightly rate, I could have stayed at iconic luxury properties such as The Pierre, and I expected a much higher standard.
The biggest issue was the shower. The diverter never fully switched from the bathtub faucet to the overhead rain shower, so water continued pouring into the bathtub while I showered. As a result, the tub gradually filled with water, and I found myself standing in a puddle of soapy water. I reported this during my stay and was told it would be repaired, but the problem remained until I checked out.
I also found hair in the bathroom upon arrival, which immediately affected my confidence in the room's cleanliness.
The bathroom itself feels quite dated. The high bathtub with a shower instead of a modern walk-in shower was inconvenient, and there are no grab bars or secure handholds when stepping out. Although I am fit and active, I nearly slipped getting out of the tub. I would be genuinely concerned about the safety of older guests, as this seems like an avoidable liability risk.
Overall, the hotel has an excellent location and good potential, but the room did not match the premium price charged. I left feeling that I had paid luxury hotel rates without receiving a luxury hotel experience.
I hope management will take this feedback seriously, as I would like to return in the future if these issues are addressed. Given that I reported the maintenance problem during my stay and it was not resolved before my departure, I would appreciate a goodwill gesture or loyalty points to acknowledge the inconvenience.

Worst customer service ever. The most simplest thing of obtaining an invoice is still not resolved
Our stay at Thompson Central Park New York was truly exceptional.
We were traveling with my children, and my son celebrated his 9th birthday during our stay. The hotel managed to organize a beautiful football/soccer-themed room decoration in just one day, which is something that is usually almost impossible on such short notice. A special thank you to Jason, the front office manager, who organized everything and truly went above and beyond. From our very first meeting, Jason treated me not just as a guest, but almost like a New York friend. He was always available, helpful, kind, and genuinely cared about making our stay special.
The rooms are extremely clean, elegant, and well maintained, with very good bathroom amenities. The air conditioning works perfectly, and the room temperature can be adjusted easily, which was very important for us. The room does not have classic curtains, but it has excellent blackout shades that completely block the morning light, something I especially appreciated while traveling with children.
The hotel bar does not have a very large food menu, but the offer is carefully designed and feels like something you would expect from a very good restaurant. Everyone can find something they like, and the quality is excellent.
The location is simply unbelievable. You are in the very center of Manhattan, close to everything, but at the same time the hotel feels calm, quiet, and peaceful, almost as if you are miles away from the city noise.
The service, comfort, room quality, location, and kindness of the entire staff fully justify the price. Honestly, for this level of service, location, and room quality, the price could even be higher.
The hotel also kindly allowed us a late check-out at no additional cost, which was extremely helpful because we had a later flight and were traveling with children.
If you are looking for a hotel in Manhattan, do not waste time searching further.
