Disappointing
Pros:

Standard motel style accommodation. Room was fine as was breakfast.

Cons:

No lift to upstairs rooms. Shower tap was very stiff. Air conditioning unit started up in the middle of the night and was very loud and difficult to turn off. No instructions given. When we raised this at check out, the response was defensive and condescending. In fairness we later received a message with a fulsome apology and feedback with an offer of a discount and upgrade on our next stay in any of the group's hotels.

Across Canada with our cats
Pros:

The room was spacious and clean. We had our cats with us and the beds and furniture were cat proof which meant we could relax and not worry about a cat getting into the bed or finding a hiding place. We were on the ground floor and were able to park our car nearby, this made it much easier to bring suitcases and cat stuff in and out. The staff were very courteous and kind.

Cons:

Breakfast was not that good. It was quite hot at the reception and breakfast area. People were smoking near the outside doors and ignoring all the signs stating that smoking was not allowed there. Our room door was very hard to open and close.

The fact that we had a two day reservation but had booked for the wrong first day caused us to lose both days subsequently finding ourselves in Thunder Bay without a room. The desk clerk was awesome and helpful by referring us to the Prince Arthur 😱 🤮. We took the Prince Arthur room despite the condition and can't believe royalty once stayed there 😳.

Small toilets but comfy beds. Would stay again,

The beds were incredibly comfortable. Probably the best bed I’ve slept in at a hotel in years.

Cons:

The bathrooms are quite small. The room was also a little small compared to sister hotel super 8.
