The hotel overall needs a Reno. Walls and ceiling are falling apart and you can see mold growing under it in the pool area. The bathrooms are appalling in the pool area. Towels were never replenished until calling for more and then we were told they were in the dryer. An entire hotel of people and can’t come up with a stack of pool towels. Seems the hotel was very short staffed. Never saw any cleaners around. The amount paid (over $300) for a suite stay was completely overpriced for what we experienced.
The lobby is cute and inviting, as well as the restaurant. My dog was comfortable there. It was quiet and clean, and just what we needed for our road trip. Everyone was nice and friendly.
Maybe a little more variety in the pantry.
Nice staff
No free breakfast
I like that we were able to sit in the lobby and socialize with others. The lobby didn’t close so we set downstairs and talked alll night

I enjoyed my time with the family. The employees were nice. The dog area was a great addition. It was nice to have an option for a snack or drink to buy at the front desk. The coffee in the room was nice to have. Free parking was a plus to have. Bob Evans, across from the Hilton, was great to have that as an option.
Considering it's a Hilton, I expected it to be well-maintained. The pool area didn't have towels. We were told due to the shortage of towels. The pool didn't smell like chlorine and was green. A lot of rust everywhere. The water fountains had rust.
I don't mind reusing towels, just need more area to hang things to dry. The door to get to the dog area was broken and kept coming off. The clocks didn't have the right time. Almost felt like the little things didn't matter to be kept up with.
I liked the staff who were all trying their best to make this a special stay.
The breakfast was not free, which is ridiculous because of the price of the room. The only reason I selected this hotel was for the free breakfast which now costs as much as a fine restaurant. At least they could offer free yogurt and fruit.
I was completely disappointed in this policy which is probably coming from the bloated Hilton chain.
Rooms were great! We had a 1st floor room that was in clear view of our cars. Location was perfect. It was clean and safe. The breakfast was good.
It was advertised to have a restaurant and bar. However these were closed on Sunday night. One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was for the restaurant- we wanted eat a proper meal after a long drive in poor weather. This was a major disappointment.
Location and clean hotel
No continental breakfast but your more than happy to charge people $35 if they want breakfast.
Thats ridiculous!!!!!
Very clean room! Friendly, helpful staff
Room bed and mattress very comfortable.
TV remote problematic.
Location
Well lit parking lot. Close to the surgical center that I used. Lots of food options nearby in addition to the restaurant.
No pictures on the walls looks a bit sterile

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A Wonderful Stay During a Snowstorm — Exceptional Service from Nikki!
I got snowed in during a terrible storm on a long drive and ended up staying at the Hilton Garden Inn in Chesterton, Indiana. I couldn’t have picked a better place to wait out the weather. The hotel is clean, comfortable, reasonably priced, and everyone I interacted with was genuinely kind.
But the real standout of my stay was Nikki at the lobby bar/restaurant. It was only her second night on the job, yet she handled a full group of guests like a seasoned pro. She was attentive, warm, incredibly hardworking, and somehow managed to give great service to everyone despite how busy it was. Nikki truly made my stay outstanding, and her effort deserves to be recognized.
If you’re passing through Chesterton — storm or no storm — this is a great place to stay. And if Nikki is working, you’re in especially good hands!
