The breakfast was the best! Close to the zoo and other not that centric activities.
Pool was out of service (even if it was supposed to be ready by our dates) Some of the staff gave us wrong information (a receptionist wanted us to park on the street even though the parking lot was attached to the hotel and had plenty of spaces.
Beautifully appointed interiors, clean.
Nearby parking garage was difficult to get to and didn't feel safe, especially at night.
So much signage for leaving tips in tips boxes left randomly around the hotel. There were several 'only take what you can eat' signs at the breakfast bar. We had two staterooms and both had missing light bulbs in half the lamps. Even all our pillows had anti-theft devices attached. Our window view was a dumpster.
Seemed way too stingy for the price we paid.
Nice location in walkable downtown Clayton. Huge breakfast; free parking; large room, comfortable beds. Nice lobby.
Staff on arrival was not friendly or helpful.
Room was great. Breakfast was very good. Parking is acceptable.
Better lighting in room. Confusion over which elevator to use.
The location was very good. (We do an annual girls’ trip to attend a show at The Muny, then shop the next day.) The breakfast is also good, but the oatmeal is too watery.
The listing said it had an indoor and outdoor pool. After we made a non-refundable reservation, the hotel notified us that the pools are closed for maintenance until September. Also, the rooms smelled like toilet bowl cleaner. The cleaning products are leaving a strong, unpleasant smell in the rooms.
Clean, comfortable with everything we needed
The plaza is convenient to our son’s neighborhood. We enjoy staying here when we visit STL
All good
Breakfast was well apportioned
Pool out of order
The garage which I doubt the hotel owns was filthy
I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was cordial and attentive. Even the maintenance people were friendly and talkative. Best hotel shower ever.
It was all good. Thanks to everyone!
The property was nice and the rooms were updated. The shower was the best part because it was digital. You could set the temperature you wanted before you even climbed in. Breakfast was great.
It wasn’t close to the location I needed for my son’s soccer tournament.
friendly and helpful staff, clean, excellent breakfast
the hotel is an aging giant - it does need a facelift, but there is something about it that speaks to its former grandeur. This is not a criticism, just an observation.
Location was convenient. Breakfast was way better than expected.
Attitude of front desk was not good. Needed another person at desk from 4 to 5– long lines. My room “wasn’t ready” and I was told they had no idea when it would be ready. I was told I would get a call on my cell. After waiting an hour (no call), I asked again about my room and was told it was ready. Went to room and the toilet was running nonstop. Was told this is how all the toilets are (not true, since I had friends staying in the room next to mine.)
One bed was too soft and lumpy to be slept on( the other was ok. Next morning, hair dryer wouldn’t work. I did receive a replacement.
Unless you really want the free breakfast, I’d stay somewhere else!
The breakfast was the best! The room was clean and comfortable. Staff were very kind.
It seemed the lobby had seen better days. And I believe the receptionist was behind some type of clear protector and there were signs taped up about rules that seems tacky. Not the best first impression.
Clean property and everyone was super friendly and helpful
I loved everything
Easy parking, comfortable beds, efficient staff and great breakfast, close to Shaw Park for morning walk or run
Pool out of service, noisy air conditioning unit
I was disappointed that when I originally booked the hotel I was not informed that the pool closure was until May and than the 3 days later I get an email that it was closed until July. I choose this hotel specifically because of the pool for my kids. Also the toilet would not flush correctly.
