We were comfortable with the room amenities, and it was convenient to have valet parking available and being so close to

It was close to good restaurants and shops; beautiful building; great architectural details; decor in room was very nice; private sauna in the bathroom was a nice surprise, although it didn’t heat up very well.

Cons:

No pool. Loud traffic on street front and noisy evening partiers across the street!!

Enjoyable
Pros:

Ideal location on Cannery Row. Very close to the aquarium. The room also had a fireplace and sauna.

Cons:

There is no AC so I had to open the windows when I slept. As in result I could hear all of the loud noise and music coming from the bar across the street.

Great location
Pros:

Staff very friendly, especially the front guys who got our car etc. very comfortable pillows and bedding. Great location

Beautiful hotel! I’d stay here again!
Pros:

The room was beautifully decorated. I loved breakfast being delivered to our room. The happy hour wine, cheese, & crackers were a nice touch. The hotel was walking distance to restaurants, shops, and the aquarium.

Overpriced but comfortable
Pros:

[+]: Fireplace, clean, amazing location, good room service from restaurant, early check-in, wine & cheese daily, friendly staff (-1 front desk woman), comfortable mattress and pillows, several small issues were also addressed promptly overall

Cons:

[-]: Our first day we arrived and the young man at the valet barely greeted us and didn’t offer to help with our luggage, even though my mother used a cane to walk and he helped other guests later. Then the other valet gentleman took 13 minutes to retrieve our car with no apology (he was apparently on a break and no one else was helping) and when I voiced some mild frustration with the front desk, the young woman with glasses was bafflingly rude to me - she offered no apology either, barely made eye contact, and should honestly be given more training. The rest of the staff including other valet were very nice and helpful.

Other issues included our room temperature (couldn’t turn off HEAT setting, noise from the bar across street, a meager breakfast compared to the cost of the room, and WiFi that stopped working altogether on our last day. It’s a nice hotel with mostly good staff and the location can’t be beat, but it’s grossly overpriced and there were some glaring problems that dampened our experience.

Pros:

Liked the window above the see, with the daybed in front of it, and also the location - central, and in front of the sea.

Cons:

Staff was not very friendly, just doing their work with some boredom. Old furniture, old smell in the room, huge cost per night, probably for position and view of the bay.

Close as you are likely to get to heaven!
Pros:

Perfect location for visiting Monterey’s magnificent aquarium; welcoming sunrise over the ocean; fireplace in the room. Nice continental breakfast in the room.
